    Although a little all over the place and sometimes even chaotic, „HUMANZ“ stands out with some really fun tunes and shows the band doesn’t fear from stepping out of their comfort zone.

    This is by far the Best Gorillaz Album i've heard so far! i don't unserstand why some People think it's a Bad Album, yes it's different, but that's the Reason why i love it!

    Empezando por la producción y grabación del disco, que si bien entiendo se buscó que suene caótico y "artificial" por momentos se hace pesado y repetitivo. Se extraña escuchar instrumentos reales (baterías, bajos, guitarras) como hicieron desde su primer álbum (donde siempre mezclaron estos con elementos electrónicos)

    Empezando por la producción y grabación del disco, que si bien entiendo se buscó que suene caótico y "artificial" por momentos se hace pesado y repetitivo. Se extraña escuchar instrumentos reales (baterías, bajos, guitarras) como hicieron desde su primer álbum (donde siempre mezclaron estos con elementos electrónicos)
    La cantidad de feats. en el álbum es excesivo y si bien muchos funcionan muy bien, se hace raro que por momentos haya canciones donde Damon ni siquiera mete una frase.
    Los interludios también molestan y podrían haberse agregado a las canciones como parte de ellas o directamente borrarlos.
    El album tiene puntos altos como: Ascension, Saturnz Barz, Momentz, Charger, Andromeda, B&B, Let Me Out, We Got The Power y considerando los tracks de la versión de Deluxe: The Apprentice, Ticker Tape y Out of Body. (quizás alguno más, haciendo 11-13 canciones muy buenas) pero tengamos en cuenta que termina siendo un álbum con 20 tracks (26 si contamos interludios) y es ahí donde se nota mucho la diferencia abismal entre canciones que están geniales con otras que parecen puro relleno.    … Expand

    Let me start off by saying I'm just talking about the base album, NOT the deluxe tracks.
    Anyways, this album has some amazing tracks on it. Busted and blue is lovely, Andromeda is gorgeous and slow, Ascension and Let Me Out are some surprisingly intense rap tracks, but there's something about this album I can't quite dig. Whether it be the annoying amount of interludes that are very short    Let me start off by saying I'm just talking about the base album, NOT the deluxe tracks.
    Anyways, this album has some amazing tracks on it. Busted and blue is lovely, Andromeda is gorgeous and slow, Ascension and Let Me Out are some surprisingly intense rap tracks, but there's something about this album I can't quite dig. Whether it be the annoying amount of interludes that are very short and could easily just be stuck on the beginning or end of tracks, or just removed completely, or the ungodly amount of features which sometimes hit and other times fall flat, but something is keeping me from loving this. It's much better than I remember it being when I first heard it on its initial release, so that's nice. Overall, this album has some pretty good ideas and tracks, and while a bit redundant at times, still is an enjoyable listen.

    Nghe rất lạ tai và hoàn toàn độc lạ hơn so với Gorillaz từ bấy giờ. Humanz gồm những bài mà mình cho là khá experimental và mạo hiểm nhưng Damon đã làm rất rất tốt :)

    I like the album and it has a lot of solid and good songs, but after 2 years I don't come back to the album like I do with the band's other projects. The album is messy but the good songs make up for it.

    after hearing the deluxe humanz album i think it got a liitle bit better,some of the bonus tracks are good and the good songs are not amazing but there was some amazing songs.

    'Humanz' is an album that focuses more on the music than the virtual band members. This album may not satisfy some Gorillaz fans for it's absence of 2D's vocals, a sound that doesn't sound like 4 people made it, and choices of collaborators. However, the music is still promising, with it's enjoyable songs, creative direction, and an album that people can still love even with it's'Humanz' is an album that focuses more on the music than the virtual band members. This album may not satisfy some Gorillaz fans for it's absence of 2D's vocals, a sound that doesn't sound like 4 people made it, and choices of collaborators. However, the music is still promising, with it's enjoyable songs, creative direction, and an album that people can still love even with it's polarizing topic. In conclusion, 'Humanz' is the Gorillaz album that promises great music after a long hiatus, but will leave you still asking for another 'Demon Days' for good reason.… Expand

    All of Gorillaz releases to date have been diverse, even those that supposedly follow a particular theme. "Humanz" plays like an eclectic house party mixtape rather than an album by one artist.     Without having seen the cover, a casual listener could be excused for not identifying this as being released under the same band name as Gorillaz' self-titled debut, which remains their most genuine-sounding release. Not that this should be taken as a serious criticism, since Gorillaz isn't a genuine band. Humanz is much more in line with Demon Days, at least in spirit, though with aWithout having seen the cover, a casual listener could be excused for not identifying this as being released under the same band name as Gorillaz' self-titled debut, which remains their most genuine-sounding release.     This album requires multiple listens to come into full view. Yes, it is more incoherent than previous albums, but we live in incoherent times, and each Gorillaz album seems to capture the feeling of the times. I have slowly fallen in love with it, and have been listening to it on repeat.

    The long almost seven year wait for a fourth album by the genre smashing Gorillaz is finally over. The album has some great well put together and catchy songs with a new R&B, rap and pop feel

After the 7 long years, they finally came back and this time, they did not break my expectations, but they already dodged them, it's a very lively and fun album, with songs whose lyrics are dark and talks about an ending that we are not very Far from living, the world is going to **** friends, and Gorillaz knew how to explain, although I have to admit that little or no participation of Damon in some songs, like many, bothered me, but still, excellent album , Such as "She's my collar", "Momentz", "Ascension", "Saturnz Barnz", "Ticker Tape", "Strobelite", "Let me out", "Busted and Blue", "Andromeda", "Hallelujah Money "(Whose lyrics are so deep and full of double meaning phrases, I did not understand why few liked it, a very good song if you want to know what Humanz will talk about)… Expand

    Gorillaz always seems to have that way of thinking that makes their albums totally unexpected, and i love that. Even though I was thirsting for an “only Gorillaz” album, I am not disappointed with the final outcome, they had a huge variety of songs with very good collaborations with not so well known artists, and they are, in a way trying to mesh that sound as well as Daft Punk is doingGorillaz always seems to have that way of thinking that makes their albums totally unexpected, and i love that. Even though I was thirsting for an “only Gorillaz” album, I am not disappointed with the final outcome, they had a huge variety of songs with very good collaborations with not so well known artists, and they are, in a way trying to mesh that sound as well as Daft Punk is doing lately.
    It sounds funky and it’s a great listen, but i doubt any of those songs will transcend as their previous songs did, and that bugs me, because i think is a good album, but I’m don’t really feel the need to come back to it as often as i wish i would, sometimes is almost tiring to listen the whole album at once. I think it works better as a compilations of singles than an album overall.    … Expand

    Gorillaz’s brand new album ‘Humanz’ has been one of the most anticipated albums in 2017, randomly releasing 4 singles featuring artists such as D.R.A.M, Popcaan, Vince Staple and Jehnny Beth (Savages) and later a collaboration with Pusha T and Mavis Staple entitled ‘Let Me Out’.

    The album starts off with the Vince Staple collaboration ‘Ascension’, a 140 bpm fast drum loop with Vince    Gorillaz’s brand new album ‘Humanz’ has been one of the most anticipated albums in 2017, randomly releasing 4 singles featuring artists such as D.R.A.M, Popcaan, Vince Staple and Jehnny Beth (Savages) and later a collaboration with Pusha T and Mavis Staple entitled ‘Let Me Out’.

    The album starts off with the Vince Staple collaboration ‘Ascension’, a 140 bpm fast drum loop with Vince rapping the chorus (‘The sky's falling, baby Drop that ass 'fore it crash’) letting the listener know with it’s dark sounds in the back that the world is somewhat ending. The track is a good introduction to the album with it’s theme but I didn’t find it to be a good track to represent Gorillaz but instead become more of a Vince Staple track.

    Afterwards the track ‘Strobelite’ starts with a completely different theme and sound, a house style track with Peven Everett on vocals who fits so perfectly with Gorillaz’s style but just doesn’t have a great transition between ‘Ascension’ and the next track ‘Saturnz Bar’ featuring Popcaan with their dark themes.

    Later after ‘Momentz’ with De La Soul, which would’ve been a fantastic track without that awful kick, we start to see some problems with the album on the track ‘Submission’ that features Kelela and Danny Brown. Kelela ends up taking the whole track with Danny just on the bridge which is disappointing because Danny Brown is such a unique rapper with a dark but fun style which would be the perfect fit which didn’t happen whilst Kelela’s generic lyrics and vocals take over the track.

    You start to see so many missed opportunities they could of had with their collaborators like Grace Jones only singing a few lines in the back of “Charger”, barely hearing D.R.A.M in ‘Andromedia’, Anthony Hamilton’s vocals on ‘Carnival’ not fitting with the instrumental and so many empty spaces which could of had vocals on ‘Sex Murder Party’.

    The deluxe edition isn’t worth getting, most of the tracks were either fillers or not as big as they should of been (‘Out of Body’, ‘Halfway To The Halfway House’) BUT the tracks ‘The Apprentice’, which features Rag’n’Bone Man, Ray BLK and Zebra Katz, and my other favourite ‘Ticker Tape’ featuring Carly Simon & Kali Uchis are worth giving a listen.

    Overall this album is good, but it won’t be a classic as Demon Days and Plastic Beach was because these songs are so serious and deep with its political statement that has made me forget that the whole point of this band was that Gorillaz is a fun cartoon band.

The tracks don't have a nice flow and some of them clearly stand out, while a few are just straight disappointing. Some of my favourites: Ascension, Saturnz Barz, Let Me Out and Hallelujah Money.     I'm awestruck by this album. Some of the sounds in this are nectar to the ears, and the rap features are really well done, and I liked them a lot since I'm a big hip hop head. My favorite song is easily Andromeda with DRAM. All of the songs are memorable and it's definitely inspired me to look at their older stuff for sure!

    Gorillaz has some new concept that differs this album from another ones, Humanz have a lot of collaboration's with... well... humans; the concept is good, but the fans was hoping hear Damon Albarn voice more (well... I can assume I was willing to hear more of his voice too).

    It took me a few listenings to completely fall in love with this record, but now I can't stop listening. It is truly "the soundtrack for the party at the end of the world". A natural and nice continuation of Gorillaz's career.

Their purpose is to mold and bend what we define as music, or rather, genre. Damon Albarn, though vocally taking a back seat, I think was incredibly influential in this hodge-podge of genreHumanz by the Gorillaz is exactly what the Gorillaz has always been: experimental. I personally find the notion of being a fan of the Gorillaz, after listening to one album a faulty venture. Their purpose is to mold and bend what we define as music, or rather, genre. Damon Albarn, though vocally taking a back seat, I think was incredibly influential in this hodge-podge of genre combination. I enjoyed piecing together each songs influence, and which artist had the most contribution to each song. If your purchasing this album to hear what you believe is classic Gorillaz sound, you'll be disappointed. It's an Experiment after all, like it always has been.… Expand

    Like all Gorillaz albums, this takes a few listens to hook you. Once it does you fall in love with it. When I first listened to the album I felt the same as I have seen many others express, "this doesn't sound like Gorillaz." But then again, what do the Gorillaz sound like?

    At first I thought there were too many featured artists and that the Gorillaz vibe was put on the backburner.    Like all Gorillaz albums, this takes a few listens to hook you. Once it does you fall in love with it. When I first listened to the album I felt the same as I have seen many others express, "this doesn't sound like Gorillaz." But then again, what do the Gorillaz sound like?

    After 7 years we can enjoy again a new gorillaz album. I'm so excited about this. It is an outside of the box, different album with plenty of music genres mixed in a good way. I love all the tracks one by one. Any of these tracks is unique. The guests were amazing, they match well on their tracks but I wanted more Albarn on this album. The production and the mix was very good, also youAfter 7 years we can enjoy again a new gorillaz album. I'm so excited about this. It is an outside of the box, different album with plenty of music genres mixed in a good way. I love all the tracks one by one. Any of these tracks is unique. The guests were amazing, they match well on their tracks but I wanted more Albarn on this album.     I've been waiting a Gorillaz comeback since "The Fall" and this album is totally worth it. Although some people hate the album but for me, it's another "Demon Days" but there are 2 things that I don't like from the album: Heavy collaborations on all tracks and political overcharged.

    Humanz is a giddy celebration of unity in difference, the sound of eccentrics, weirdos, outsiders and freaks partying together in defiance of convention. It is music where anything goes, as long as it’s got a groove and a heart.
