Interesting, unique ideas squandered by a lack of blossoming. The album's vibe is maybe best exemplified in the three skits where we get snippets of people asked broad questions, and their responses are layered over each other.
  2. Had the stronger songs been contained to an EP it could well have rivalled the extraordinary consistency and thrill of its predecessor – but frustratingly, it falls short.

Half Free and In AU.S. Girls have been moving closer to more listenable music from their sound experiments in that were released in 2008. Half Free and In A Poem Unlimited hit the sweet spot, and I thought they would hang around that spot a little longer. Excited to hear this after those two euphoric albums and the awesome Overtime that was released early, I was extremely disappointed by the blandness of the album, apart from a few songs. I listened to it for weeks, trying to love it, but I had no luck. Still, U.S. Girls stays on top of my favourite bands, and one album is not enough to change that. Full Review »
