I was really disappointed by this sophomore record. While the D'addario brothers are extremely talented musicians their choice to make a broadway musical was not the right one. It was overly ambitious and isn't what we needed or wanted from them. What we needed was for them to expand on Do Hollywood and make kick ass rock songs. I know these kids grew up on broadway and were actors before they were musicians but that doesn't mean they need to bring broadway into their music. It's just not what I was looking for as a fan. I wish the album was more of "Queen of My School" and less "Born Wrong/Heart Song". Expand

Plentiful showstopping melodies and an authentic dedication to their influences--Todd Rundgren even plays Shane's dad--will see Go To School run and run. [Oct 2018, p.86]

The result is that it all, somehow, sounds bizarrely natural. Landing in the unique middle ground between the ’70s warmth of Todd Rundgren (who lends guest vocals as Shane’s dad, of course) and Little Shop Of Horrors, Go To School is a genuine original.

Featuring contributions from Jody Stephens (Big Star) and Brian and Michael's father Ronnie D’Addario, Go To School is a true beauty and a classic in its own right.
