    There is plenty of crooning and emoting from O'Dell and there are some hummable, even memorable tunes. At times, though, For Now is remarkably dull, serving as the relatively indifferent placeholder its title might imply.

    As was the case with Hills End, the sonic and architectural puppetry is meticulous and heartfelt, but the absence of any sort of innovation induces a sort of pleasant fatigue that grows decidedly less agreeable with repeated spins.

    Whilst the clever professional reviewers are right to say this album represents a limited palette and shows some unevenness, that doesn'tWhilst the clever professional reviewers are right to say this album represents a limited palette and shows some unevenness, that doesn't change the fact that this is a very comforting and pretty album to listen to. Stand out tracks 'In the Air' and 'Do I need You Now' are achingly beautiful and amply supported by 'The End', 'Emily Whyte' and the title track 'For Now'.
    No new ground being broken, and similarities to Savage Garden can be heard but a sonic pleasure nevertheless. I eagerly await their next release to see where DMA's take this.    … Full Review »
