The songs on Enter Now Brightness, however, suggest no dulling of Reid’s songwriting senses, just an acute desire to keep moving closer to seeing the light. [Mar 2025, p.85]

Enter Now Brightness may not be a full musical rebirth but it does feel like a step up, the sound of Reid operating at a higher level to before.

Undoubtedly, Reid is able to handle the quicker pace of “Changed Unchained” and “Hotel Santa Cruz,” but those songs’ rhythms feel somewhat out of place alongside the more meditative moments Enter Now Brightness has on offer. The depth of complex emotion that Reid conveys on the album’s bookends, “Emmanuelle” and “Send It Down the Line,” are served well by their stripped down surroundings.

Impressively, the lustrous-voiced Reid has changed tracks without derailing the train. [Feb 2025, p.39]

Enter Now Brightness is not only a title but a philosophy on an elegant set of songs that find Reid adapting just fine, thanks, at least with the help of treasured loved ones and music itself.
