Pleasant, if not very gripping... [March 2001, p.70]
  2. It's unfortunate that Frank Black And The Catholics' fourth release falls so close to that of his former band the Pixies' B-sides compilation. Next to the twisted urgency of Black's heyday, his current shortcomings are even more stark.

Frank Black's best non-Pixies record by miles. Some of the material on this is up there with his best. Full of sharp and spikey AmericanaFrank Black's best non-Pixies record by miles. Some of the material on this is up there with his best. Full of sharp and spikey Americana blues. I can keep coming back to this record and it always sounds great. Full Review »

This will probably be re-released as Frank Black and the Catholics Greatest Hits. Every song an infectious treat ringing in your ears!
