Overflowing with strong writing and excellent playing, City Forgiveness earns every minute of its two-CD sprawl.

While City Forgiveness does allow the trio breathing room, they never use that space to justify the length--they’re doing what they do, and doing it well, but the over-familiarity when faced with 90 minutes of this stuff does great songs a disservice.

‘The Yellow Roses’ typifies the lull in the album’s mid-section, and is all the more annoying when you realise how special this record could have been with a little more quality control.

This does feel like an album of transition--about the journey rather than the destination and its more sophisticated moments point towards the idea that The Wave Pictures are a band which are only going to get finer with age.

I followed this band for a very short time but this is one of my favourite indie rock albums. Sound is very natural and easiness of guitar solos suggest that they put a lot of effort in song writing and composition of the entire album, that is why I would strongly recommend this masterpiece to everybody who appreciate the genre.
