They're back in irresistibly anthemic form, with just the right blend of punk attitude and pop genius.

The sextet have stepped up their game on this record, boasting some real song writing chops too. [2 Jul 2011, p.51]

All blunders aside, Burning at Both Ends is an album that has a lot to offer for Set Your Goals devotees, and might even make converts out of the uninitiated.

There are several solid tracks and almost no terrible ones. A good portion of the disc, however, is just plain mediocre or leaves you with a feeling of musical blue balls.
  6. The songwriting on Burning At Both Ends isn't nearly up to par with other prominent pop-punk groups, and Set Your Goals only stumbles more in the execution of their sound.
