    It’s been five albums now with this formula, and I’m not saying I’m looking for a New Coke version of Tiny Moving Parts, the formula is very good, but it’s holding the band back from being anything more than pretty good.

    Breathe is a great album. Not perfect though. Some of it feels a little bit tame. Billy's drums especially seem stripped down. Occasionally,Breathe is a great album. Not perfect though. Some of it feels a little bit tame. Billy's drums especially seem stripped down. Occasionally, you get This Couch and Pleasant Living vibes but not nearly enough in my opinion. This band is capable of pretty much anything and this album, at times, seems more basic than their previous releases musically. Lyrically, this album hits hard and will be extremely relatable for years to come. It's a giant step forward in almost every way. A step back in a few ways but still a fantastic album but Every song is worth listening to.… Full Review »

The vocals are rough around the edges and feature a little too much screaming/shouting for my taste, but I have to admit it does help raise the energy level. This isn’t music to help you fall asleep! The highlights of the album, Medicine and Vertebrae, are probably also the most accessible, in case you want to try a couple sample problems but not do the whole worksheet.… Full Review »
