    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. One of the best albums of Lana lyrically. What I loved about her previous album, “Chemtrails Over The Country Club” is that it was very intimate and honest: no loud production, great lyrics and vocal performance. And she didn’t change the course on this album either. Still very honest lyrics, that really explain many things from her past, she talks more about her family and friends. And it is kind of a backbone of the album lyrically. F. e. in “Wildflower Wildfire” she sings about her childhood/youth and how it affected her personality, “Sweet Carolina” is about her sister Chuck, who just gave birth recently, “Blue Banisters”, the title track is about her boyfriend, who left her, although he promised her tons of things, and now she’s with her girlfriends, and although they know they can’t give her what a man can, they still comfort her, and she loves those little things: “Tex and Mex” (dogs) “are in the bay, Chuckie’a making birthday cake, Jake is running bare feet, there’s a baby on the way”. But the album is not only about family. One of the singles, “Arcadia” and the other song “Black Bathing Suit” ate about the hate, that she faced, the articles in magazines, the fat-phobia and the way that she was constantly mocked by the media and people in the internet, and now she’s just looking for a better world, a world of her own, where she can find peace. The vocal performance is also magnificent, from very gentle and fragile in “Sweet Carolina”, and “Beautiful” to raging and screaming in “Dealer” and “Black Bathing Suit”. And very interesting and pretty experimental ones, f. e. in “Living Legend” in bridge she made her voice sound like a sax or an electric guitar. On a side of production we also have great outros (“If You Lie Down With Me”), great synths on “Wildflower Wildfire”, a great “Interlude — The Trio”, and like in her previous works, f. e. “Lust For Life”, there are very nice sound effects that give you understanding of the vibe of the song, so you’re really involved in the song, f. e. crows in the beginning of “Black Bathing Suit” or strings part in “Thunder” which really set the mood of the song. Although the record is very cohesive is really doesn’t sound that long, nor it doesn’t sound boring, many songs are definitely growers, and are not so catchy on the first listen, but after u listen it 5 times and more, you get into them and really feel the story. Overall, a masterpiece. I would recommend it to listen to everyone just because of the lyrics, their complexity and beauty.… Expand

    The instruments are wonderful. I've never heard such a versatile piano. Sometimes it sounds like a creepy doll theme… Sometimes it sounds powerful and 2 seconds later it’s fragile again…
    Lana's voice is so diverse.
    She sings, speaks and screams. Blue Banisters is a masterpiece.

    Las baladas de piano jamás habían sonado de una manera tan especial como en Blue Banisters.
    Del Rey continúa en su trayecto de evolución artística y personal, y hace su segunda parada en lo que va del año. Blue Banisters está al nivel de sus mejores trabajos, y, si me lo preguntan, es hasta ahora su mejor trabajo.

    One of best Lana's albums. Lana returned to her classic sound, while the lyrics and sound remained the same as in Norman... If You Lie Down With Me, Violets for Roses, Wildflower Wildfire, Black Bathing Suit and Thunder are the most amaizing songs.

'Chemtrails Over The Country Club' is an excellent album, yet 'Blue Banisters' manages to represent a part of your life and still sound totally current and authentic. The pandemic did very well for Lana, she managed to evolve, make excellent albums and fit her evolution into them.Lana del Rey managed to do what no other artist who released albums in the same year could: surpass herself. 'Chemtrails Over The Country Club' is an excellent album, yet 'Blue Banisters' manages to represent a part of your life and still sound totally current and authentic. The pandemic did very well for Lana, she managed to evolve, make excellent albums and fit her evolution into them. It definitely owns up to the part of being a Lana Del Rey record, yet I dare say it’s easy to call it her best with the gloomy production and the drastically improved vocal delivery.     This album is amazing. The melodies are beautiful and the lyrics are deeper and more personal than ever. My favourite tracks are Beautiful, Living Legend and If You Lie Down with Me but I love all of the other songs as well.

    She has really outdone herself, this new sound with old songs made a perfect album, congrats to you Lana. Although I don’t think she’ll ever outdo herself with NFR!, this album is definitely a top three lana album.

    O blue banisters trouxe uma Lana mais vulnerável e com sangue nos olhos. Sua sonoridade é o ponto alto do álbum, além de suas composições estarem mais pessoais do que nunca, também é um álbum que a Lana explora bastante seus vocais. Um verdadeiro merecedor de um álbum do ano no Grammy

    While the days of Born to Die have long since passed, Lana Del Rey is still seeking paradise, closer now than ever as she turns her search inward, seemingly recognizing that paradise is ultimately found within the best of oneself. Still, if there is indeed a physical Arcadia to be revealed, it has not emerged in its entirety on Blue Banisters. That said, its intoxicating hints are enough to keep seekers thirsty.
