Jan 3, 2019It's refreshing in the sense of how different from Korn this is, and fans of that band will absolutely have trouble finding the good here as Davis strays far from their sound on most tracks. Least inspired song is What It Is, sounds like a throwaway Korn song (which should tell you how bad the song is). Otherwise, an interesting listen, if not mildly entertaining.

Classic Rock MagazineJun 6, 2018His debut solo album edges away from Korn's clattering, downtuned noise. What is unexpected is just how far from the mothership he's travelled--and how good the result is. [Jun 2018, p.88]

May 31, 2018Oftentimes, Davis dips his toes into this new realm of instrumentation, only to return to his heavy comfort blanket, twisted riffs drowning out any tentative experiments. You can’t help but wonder just how interesting Black Labyrinth could have been if he only dove a little deeper.

Kerrang!May 29, 2018Black Labyrinth is an interesting, if flawed distraction from this icon--though it doesn't justify a 10-year wait. [26 May 2018, p.53]
