    This is NOT music. All the songs sound alike, they didn't sing much, just speak some random words. And 8 songs for an album? Is this a joke?

    the album is perfect, all songs are such a bop. the only defect is that has only 8 songs. Apart from that everything about the album is perfect. this girls slayed so much and their vocals are so freaking amazing. Also the amazing producers really served us with this beats.

    Really loved the rythm and song compositions. But the thing that really messed it up for me, it's the songs production. As a production lover, this really makes me sad.
    Lovesick girls, the title track, really sounds messy. There's no clarity on the song components and the excessive echoing makes it weird to me, and hurts my ears.     É um álbum extremamente massivo e vago. Parece que foi feito às pressas, com uma produção fraca e mais do mesmo apresentado nos EP's anteriores. Decepcionante.

    I found nothing memorable. Something different, sure I guess, but the main formula still remains just slightly more acoustic in sound and more of a chorus. Anyways that’s just my opinion p, nothing against the girls

    More of the same, it's not a bad album, but also not an outstanding. there's nothing powerful in it. just the prerelease single how you like that and pretty savage.

    i expected more from the collaborations, but the song with Selena Gomez and the other with Cardi B were just a mes.

    Song after song and nothing new. All their songs sound the same. Boring! Ice cream is atrocious. Lab created and no personality, I wonder if the girls even like these songs. Atleast they look beautiful

Blackpink keeps taking a long time to release something, I feel like it's just a strategy to make the fans engage more and be more eager when the thing releases, but it bothers me so much. Also the feats on this album don't look organic, but more of a thing YG got for them to up the sales and visibility of the songs, Cardi doesn't add anything to the song she's in and Selena also does not feel "fresh" like I expected to.… Expand

Was expecting so much more for their first full album, turned out it only has 8 songs with 2 of them being pre-released singles. The songs are pretty generic, the only song i think is good is Pretty Savage. I looked up the lyrics and DEFINITELY not sth I expect, given that I rmb their fans said Blackpink has sth to do with woman empowerment...… Expand

    o novo mini álbum do blackpink é totalmente decadente, não saindo muito da sua fórmula base a girlband não inova trazendo novos gêneros ou diversidade musical. Sintetizado em batidas genéricas e refrões fracos com palavras repetidas ou com onomatopeias, "The Album" trás aquilo que já conhecemos faixas baseadas em hip-hop e músicas bem animadas. O álbum é basicamente composto por sampleso novo mini álbum do blackpink é totalmente decadente, não saindo muito da sua fórmula base a girlband não inova trazendo novos gêneros ou diversidade musical. Sintetizado em batidas genéricas e refrões fracos com palavras repetidas ou com onomatopeias, "The Album" trás aquilo que já conhecemos faixas baseadas em hip-hop e músicas bem animadas. O álbum é basicamente composto por samples não creditadas e em umas das faixas inclusive faz apologias a gordofobia. They had quite a few new producers and writers on this project and yet it sounds like a completely recycled concept of their older tracks even the choreo is quite lame and outdated. The features were the only highlight of the entire album and still managed to be underwhelming and uncohesive both lyrically and production wise the other album tracks arent even memorable to mention. The only difference on this album is that majority of the songs are in English very strange considering they a korean group yet their debut album has more english in it than korean? This move just lacks a certain musical integrity in other words ....sell outs. This album was a solid 0/10 not even the visuals can save this mediocre farce.… Expand

    In first place, this album should be a mini-album, because it has only 8 songs. I really expected more, and even bought the physical album. They keep using the same techniques, so their songs, to me, sound repetitive. Also, I feel that the collaborations were unnecessary, they don't contribute anything.

    The most awful album of the year. The lyric of this album is so empty. Their voice doesn't harmonize with the beat. The album by Blackpink is just a mess in my opinion

And i can see 2 of the members were added to the credits to lsg along with a full house of writers and producers (to appease fans begging them to participate in the making of their music) it really seems like they dont care what they put out as long as they know their fans will buy it, this album had the biggest build up just to underperform in every aspect perhaps spend more time in the studio instead of attending fashion events and advertising your brand deals on Instagram for a quick paycheck their is no artistry here… Expand

    Honestly, I'm tired. I have been trying to get into the group but I feel like I'm always listening to the same song. The girls are beautiful, but I'm not staying for looks.

    When it comes to musicality. They sounds like a gong,auto tunes and the beats, songs are the same like their old songs. Nothing's really special. they're always stagnant, have a dark concept.Maybe that's their group image. It's not inspiring and you'll get bored to listen to it.
