Clearly, the haters came out in force to try to bring down the user score for this album. She not only brings a pop original, that has nothing to do with this mainstream pop out there, she brings a ferocity to her work. Taylor finally ends up assuming totally Pop on her new album "1989" which ended up being his most daring and intuitive disk. We have some greatI absolutely loved this album. I was already expecting to be good, but not on this level. This is a pop masterpiece. She not only brings a pop original, that has nothing to do with this mainstream pop out there, she brings a ferocity to her work.     Taylor Swift's 1989 it's loyal to pop gender and its melodies are really soft and harmless. Swift has shown great talent in the composition of her songs, but that ain't new. The best music of her album is "New Romantics", that represents really well her type of songs and her purpose in music.

This album will make you dance, cheer. The way she writes sarcastically and reflects on love, separation and friendship is surprising. The only stone on that brilliant album is "Bad Blood". The other songs remain at theSwift officially enters Pop with a very interesting album.     1989 is a total shift in Taylor's discography, as she goes from country to full on synth-pop and it works out well for her, with almost all her singles being spectacular, with few bumps in the road.

    Taylor's first pop album was where she fit the most and we saw the real Taylor reveling in sad or fun lyrics even irony. Proud of her as in the new pop, we have her generic songs like all most albums and that the evolution is great.

    Some of the lyrics are great, and also some songs. I think some of the songs should be more known, like Clean and I Know Places, they have interesting and good lyrics. I don't really think that there was a "bad song" in this álbum.

    Reviewers continue to score her in the 70's range on Metacritic for the simple reason that she's Taylor Swift. 1989 and is a pop classic and there's a reason it won album of the year. Who else ever went so seamlessly from country to pop? "Shake it Off", "Blank Space", and "Style" are instant classics. Taylor deserves so much more praise for her talent than she gets.

    This may not be her best work, but this is definitely an essential taylor swift album. This is her first pop album and it's admirable how she changed her sound knowing her audiences were country song enthusiasts. I think it's important for artists to be brave and explore more and more. Don't get lost in your comfort zone.

Also by listening to the songs one by one you feel like you’re in a journey; you laugh, you cry, you smile and etc.. every song has its own massage and every single one is wonderful! Sonically, '1989' is very different than anything Taylor Swift has ever done, but when you stay faithful to your soul and your core, nothing you do will upset people. Her first 'official documented pop album' is just perfection made by the combination of catchy tunes, deep lyrics (as usual), great vocal performance, and confidence/sass kinda attitude. Here is every single track reviewed:
    1. Welcome to New York: This song, done with Ryan Tedder, serves its purpose with brilliance: Introducing Swift's most-sonically challenging album. Great track and New York Anthem.
    2. Blank Space: The first highlight of the album, produced by hitmakers Max Martin and Shellback, and written by Swift, this song offers everything there is: Love, Fun, Confidence, Dismissing what people say. EVERYTHING I tell ya!
    3. Style.: Another amazing song from amazing Mrs. Swift. I think what really shines on here are the reaaaally good lyrics (You got that James Dean daydream look in your eye/ And I got that red lip classic thing that you like.)
    4. Out of the Woods: The first promo single of the album, produced by Antonoff, sees Swift at her most experimental and adventurous yet. Really good song.
    5. All You Had To Do Was Stay: The verse emerges reminiscent of the Speak Now & Fearless eras (Lyrically speaking) and then the chorus hits and the world is slayed. I think what rings the most is the epic "Stay!"
    6. Shake It Off: Okay, if you still haven't heard this song, you must be living on Mars or something. A great haters-gonna-hate anthem, wisely chosen as the lead single.
    7. I Wish You Would: If you didn't like this track from the first listen, that's okay, I didn't either. But it really grew on me and realized the chorus is the most insane thing Taylor has ever done.
    8. Bad Blood: If it really is about Katy Perry, then I got bad news for her: Katy Perry, you are (unfortunately) very burned. Lyrically strong and great production. I mean, have you heard those beats?
    9. Wildest Dreams: Lana Del Rey, is that you? Taylor attempts a Lana-type-of-song, and she absolutely nails it. My second favourite off the album, after 'Blank Space'. Breathy vocals and production and dark lyrics, way to go!
    10. How You Get The Girl: The only song on '1989' that is not as memorable as the others. It's still good though, with typical Swift-lyrics, such as 'I want you for worse or for better/ I would wait forever and ever'.
    11. This Love: Written by Swift alone, this song is so much reminiscent of the Speak Now era, except it's pop. Breathy, dark and calm, this song is absolutely beautiful!
    12. I Know Places: The darkest song on the record. The lyrics hit too much, and the melodies will just sweep you off. Great attempt at change, Tay (especially with the 'They are the hunters, we are the foxes, and we run' line)!
    13. Clean: You like 'All Too Well'? Well this song is the closest to it on the record. Emotionally charged, this song serves as the perfect closer.

    Remember when Lorde said that Taylor is a "perfectionist"? Well, she wasn't wrong, folks! Great album Taylor. (Hoping you'd go country again for your 2016 release). This album proves that Mrs. Swift still has a long career ahead of her. 10/10.    … Expand

The'1989', de Taylor Swift, é com certeza um divisor de água na carreira da cantora. A carreira de Swift começou com o estilo country às vezes misturado com uma leve sonoridade pop. "someday i'll be livin' in the big ol' city" (ela cantava em 'Mean'). Mal sabia ela que um dia estaria vivendo universo intenso de 'Welcome to New York" - (it´s a new soundtrack, I could dance to this beat. The lights are so bright, but they never blind me).Ela canta, com uma batida meio anos 80 acompanhando a produçaõ da música. A adolescente que antes tinha os olhos mais brilhantes que as estrelas do céu de Georgia, agora tornou-se a própria estrela.
    Este álbum é sobre mudança, e -principalmente- sobre a imagem de Taylor Swift. 1989, sendo o ano de seu nascimento, traz a ideia de uma nova imagem para a cantora. Um novo estilo, novas sonoridades e novas histórias. Aqui, ela mostra ironia com sua fama de ter muitos namorados em "Blank Space" e em "Shake it Off" "I go on too many dates, but i can't make'em stay. At least that's what people say." Assumindo totalmente a sua fama de ter tido muitos namorados.
    Swift é uma artista que consolida-se nas composições. Ela escreve sozinha as próprias músicas, e- às vezes- pede uma ajudinha a outros compositores. Sua habilidade de contar histórias é excepcional. Nesse quesito, "Wildest Dreams" destaca-se trazendo essa característica, de modo que é possível imaginar tudo o que está sendo cantado. "This Love" é a balada do álbum e com uma produção que se destaca diante das "BOB" que se apresentam e traz um certo alívio para o ouvinte.
    "I Know Places" talvez seja a canção que, liricamente, tenha muita relação com toda o conceito de relacionamentos amorosos que o álbum aborda. Porém, sonoramente, é bagunçada, e parece que há mais de uma música tocando.
    '1989' conta com a produção de alguns nomes bem conhecidos do pop, como Max Martin e Jack Antonoff. Abalou o mundo pop de 2014, e trouxe uma mudança para a carreira de Taylor Swift e de todos os artistas que fizeram álbuns depois desse período.     Recognized by Taylor herself as her first pop album, 1989 is Taylor's triumphant entry into her new genre. With unforgettable songs, which are a hymn to this day, 1989 will be an album for eternity.

Her new style and tone with this album works so well and shows how evolving as an artist is necessary and pays off greatly.     Taylor's first pop album is a perfect example of adaptation. She does not lose the control of the sound in any moment of the entire project. This is one of the most cohesive albums I've ever heard. Maybe, what I loved the less, is the sometimes commercial sound that it has.

    Mädel, kauf dir eine Laussalbe und steck dir den Finger, den Rest kennst du ja. Die Platte hat eine ganze Generation angesteckt und schmeckt heute noch.

    With 1989 she has succeeded in leveraging the most cordial and familiar of pop music outpourings to something that feels like a statement, a work of note and the sinew of some kind of emotional connective tissue–binding tastemakers, rock critics, guys I work with and my 12 year old cousin; irrevocably and unexpectedly.
