A really good zombie comedy movie with rising stars Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin. Not to mention the great career turnaround from Woody Harrelson (See the Messenger).

"Zombieland" is a rare movie that actually criticizes the world with its laughs and scare. It's a movie you would despise first and love later.

There were some awesome jokes, but I felt they became a little too few and far between. I also think the pacing was also a little uneven, because considering it was barely an hour and a half it was a little slow at first and then sped up. I preferred the characters and more or less the ending as that's when it had a little more depth. The rules made up by Columbus were pretty awesome though - and pretty useful when a real zombie apocalypse happens. Expand

Reminds me a bit of Shaun of the Dead. It's a comedic zombie movie that is original enough to really enjoy. And a big reason for that is that the cast works so well together.

This group consist of a nerd who is afraid of everything named Columbus, played by Jesse Eisenberg, an insane bad-ass called Tallahssee, played by Woody Harrelson, a con woman named Wichita, played by Emma Stone, and Wichita's little sister Little Rock, Played Abigail Breslin. The acting in this film is spot on. Every time I see a movie like this I usually expect the performances to be phoned in, but in this film every one is at there best. The writing is also pretty good, it hits the right balance of action and comedy. My only real nitpick is that for a zombie apocalypse there very little zombies around. I mean there are times in this film you have to stop in wonder where all the monsters went. In conclusion if you are looking for a film with good comedy, good action, and great acting then this film is for you, however if you are looking for a great zombie film than this one might be a disappointment you. Enjoyable zombie movie! Not too gross nor too intense!

Everything seems perfectly fit! Enjoyable! Tbh, a zombie is never my preference coz usually has too much blood & too intense. BUT, this movie hits me differently.

Zombieland is a worldwide situation where almost everyone becomes a zombie. Then, the movie's main plot is to survive zombies whether alone or together.

In the beginning, it's a typical movie intro with running text to display actors, actresses, directors, producers, etc. Rarely love this, but I love this one. Then, I love movie narration too, which is consistent and easy to understand. The chars are also well-developed & well-performed.

Besides, the visuals are also great, not too offensive or too much blood. And, the fresh jokes with a few bit dramatic scenes which are good. Almost everything is funny and appropriate. Lastly, this movie is very short, only

And while Woody Harrelson's introduction doesn't nearly live up to the hype and expectation generated by the ubiquitous traile, it has its share of moments. Unfortunately, most of this initial interest and amusement faded with the introduction of the poorly drawn, unattractive and unimaginative female characters (2 young sisters) that pop into the film somewhere in the middle of the second reel. And while it's pretty obvious when the character is shown to be such an innocent loner that at some point he's going to have to "nut up or shut up", given the way this takes place, audiences might be forgiven for wondering if the filmmakers have themselves had much experience with this. In this regard it succeeds because it provides some very funny moments (thanks mostly to Woody Harrelson) and does have the feel of a zombie film. However it doesn't work because without striving for anything, this film always feels like it is missing something. It feels as if it is half a film with some of the obvious and interesting questions asked by the film left completely unanswered in favour of a joke about a twinky (funny as they are). The whole purpose of Zombieland is to entertain and because it lacks that feeling of being complete it doesn't do its job. Also, Jesse Eisenberg is boring as the lead. Expand

First of all, for a comedy, this is far not funny enough. At least in my opinion. Secondly, and thats the point that disturbs me most, the plot and the jokes were both too predictable. At most parts I was pretty sure about how the story would go on and eventually it did more or less exactly like that. Pretty said. So Zombieland is neither a bad movie nor a bad comedy and in fact it´s pretty... watchable. But not more. I´ll still give it a six because the effects are quite good, no, wait, the effects are really good but that´s all. So once again: Zombieland is not the worst Zombie themed movie but also has nothing real original. I don´t want to blame the creators for having seen Zombies so many times before but they could surely have made better. The characters aren´t deep enough, the love-story between the protagonists is predictable and therefore boring and finally the ending is a little unlogical. I don´t know if it was meant to but the gags just didn´t feel right at place. So now I wish you some great fun. Expand

Zombieland was an utter failure. Saying that it was bad or tired or bland or uninteresting doesn't go far enough in expressing how poor a film it is; it flat-out fails on every generic level which could arguably be ascribed to it. It's not quite a road movie, it's about half of a teen comedy, and it's miles fucking away from what could be considered a proper, or even satirical, zombie flick. It seemed like nothing so much as a desperate attempt to cash in on a niche trope that's experienced something of a renaissance in recent years; the filmmakers obviously had no love for nor understanding of the things that make the genre great. Everything that made Shaun of the Dead so smart and sharp is missing, and what you're left with is a nutless 90 minutes that sort of disinterestedly wanders toward a conclusion without a sense of its own narrative stakes. Which is pretty appropriate, actually, because Zombieland doesn't have stakes. To have stakes you have to follow your film's internal logic, play by the rules you've set out yourself. It never even comes close. There's a cameo smack in the middle of the film that's good for ~10 minutes of chuckles, but the rest is basically filler. In a bad zombie movie, you're at least due some good gruesome fun, but Zombieland doesn't even deliver in that department. And the gratuitous use of the Z-word (and the movie's title, which I think is repeated two or three dozen times) drove me fucking batty. Expand

An interesting premise leads to some decent, though shallow situations, which lead to a pretty formulaic ending that feels like a TV movie, and many loose ends are left unsatisfied.

I couldn't tell if I was watching a satirical poke at zombie movies or a rather mediocre serious take on zombie movies. It seemed like it couldn't make up its mind. It also seemed like it didn't know if it was aiming for adult audiences or college age audiences. It sort of hovers in the middle, afraid to offend either party

These characters are as paper-thin as they come. Having all jumped from the pages of the conglomerated codex of all zombie movies put together, they feel no need to explain their motivations, since it clearly knows you've seen this shlock a hundred times before. Some half-hearted attempts are made at backstory, but they are mostly of the 'tell and don't show' variety

Bill Murray makes a rather odd appearance, and it just felt like it was saying "We're cultured, we appreciate Bill Murray." Just like many a college student, the movie can't help itself from trying to get your attention and adoration, stroking its own ego at the expense of being a good movie. Would not see again, would not recommend

"lets go to pacific play land and turn on all the lights and rides and NOT expect zombies to attack, especially while we're in a major city. but before we do that let's go to Bill Murray's house with lots of glass windows and hit golf balls and make lots of noise"???????? it just didnt make any sense! i hated this movie to the core. I enjoy the whole zombie idea, where the whole population turns into zombies and its the end of the world. The movie had such a good start! I was ready to enjot it, and then it became boring with a cast of 4 actors!?!? Not funny, no adventure, AVOID

POINTLESS! it is beyond me how anyone could possible want to direct or produce this so called 'film'. However, if this is not bad enough, people actually watch it and get a sense of entertainment off it.

Didn't really expect much from this offering and Jesse Heisenberg has that annoying face syndrome. Comedy version of 28 days later set in the USA instead of the UK. What's with that line "12 is the new 20"? That was written by adult writerDidn't really expect much from this offering and Jesse Heisenberg has that annoying face syndrome. Comedy version of 28 days later set in the USA instead of the UK. What's with that line "12 is the new 20"? That was written by adult writer for a child actress, oof!? Creepy... It's funny how one really creepy thing can put a sour note on the whole movie experience. Without the pedo comment maybe a 8/10 on the dumb fun scale. Expand
