This film is so cringy that I couldn’t make it to the first half. It is probably meant to be uncomfortable but labeling it as a comedy is REALLY a misdirection

Netflix really can't do anything right. In an attempt to be edgy, they ended up being ignorant and corny.

Ah so this is why people are paying for a netflix subscription: so they can listen to a jew and a black be racist towards White people for nearly two hours.

Can't imagine why their subscriber count is dropping.

It's so backwards and clearly is brainwashing political trash. If you haven't seen it, STAY AWAY. This is insulting to jews and Caucasian, and yes It's trying to feed racism against Africans/African Americans yet it is extremely insulting to them too. This film fails to show the real problem which is the making of such pathetic films. Cringe 100% Expand

Films like Moneyball and Wolf of Wall Street were great because of good direction, spectacular writing and good lead actors. You People...Screenwriters/Director Kenya Barris and Jonah Hill do a masterful job depicting racism and twisting it into their own definition of comedy. The result? Cringe with a splash of garbage is exactly what this film was. Love Jonah Hill but not when hes taking charge. Glad this was free. I just cant get back those precious minutes i could have used to watch paint dry. Expand

Offensive, cheap, vulgar, not funny. One of the worst movies I have ever watched. It has managed to vulgarise cultures, make them look ridiculous through unbelievable characters. A shame really.

I couldn’t get through it.

First 10 minutes wasn’t too bad until it became a horribly cringe, race obsessed bore fest.

Got sick of it within 30 minutes, race baiting, anti-white rubbish.

Race baiting with louis Farrakhan talking points...
This movie does a great disservice to Jews and to the actual tension between Black people and Jewish people.

Truly Garbonzo.

I switched it offFor a romantic drama there was little love to found in the dialogue. I found the comedic set pieces stood out and there is a certain amount of hostility in the writing that enjoys punishing people for their differences. I switched it off after 20 mins or so. It has a high quality production value and a talented cast all thrown to the floor with its vapid soulless agenda filled political messaging. The quick cut editing and constant music did little help with some of the more dramatic moments. For fans of drama / Ron com I would say stay clear of this hate filled trash. Expand

Unfortunately that's not even the worst part of it. The film spends much of its time blaming Jewish people for the struggles of black America. Their accomplishments are written off as products of nepotism and the Holocaust is ridiculed. The creators could make jokes about genocide, but luckily one item was off limits, hair. The whole thing was unfunny and difficult to watch. Honestly, I wouldn't want to meet the person who could like this movie. Expand

The film seemed promising in the beginning but after introducing the main characters and storyline, the hard push of the ultra-liberal, woke agenda and implications that black Americans will “never forgive” white people for the sins of their forefathers would leave anyone with foul taste in their mouth. It’s a rather cynical, unrealistic interpretation of today’s social climate. We get it. A lot of work still needs to be done, however, it’s crap like this from the entertainment industry that continues to promote severe racial division and hatred toward one another based on religion, culture, and skin pigment and it’s so depressing. Hard pass. Expand

A painful viewing experience. The first hour and a half of this film was me actively resisting the urge to walk into my oven and crank the heat up. You can use white ignorance and make it funny but god this movie does not know what funnyA painful viewing experience. The first hour and a half of this film was me actively resisting the urge to walk into my oven and crank the heat up. You can use white ignorance and make it funny but god this movie does not know what funny means. The only joke that got me was the Xzibit joke which I thought was hilarious especially at the end with the fathers speech and him tying it in. But that was it, throughout the rest of the film I experienced pain in ways I didn't know were possible. The film about acceptance, tolerance and ignorance. It is not a battle between people or about creating a hierarchy of who has had it worse. It is about listening, understanding that everyone struggles and about being open to their struggles. But having nice messages does not excuse you for making an unfunny, painful and boring piece of **** With its unlikeable and weak characters, ****ty dialogue, basic story and weak ending (just to name a few things) You People is not worth your time.
