It’s not a movie. It’s a political message. Woke turn the movie is just a progressive message where all that matters is getting their message across.

This movie is so far removed from the original series its becomes tragic, poorly executed and very weak pathetic villains. The other movies were silly but they were no were near as meaningless as this film

This 'Wrong Turn reboot' is shockingly terrible.
Probably the worst film of this year. Wrong Turn should have ended as a 'franchise' after the second film. Bad.

Take your liberal snowflake, woke agenda to someone who wants it, because I turned this garbage off after 10 minutes. Literally opens with a black/white couple, a male gay couple, a lesbian, and a so called "confederate" white power town.

This is one mess of a political crapshoot right from the start. I refuse to watch some woke crap that is being FORCED down my throat. And for that, this film, which probably sucks anyway from looking at the other scores, can rot.

Maybe next time the director should actually focus on good actors and a good movie instead of trying to conform to the liberal, progressive, woke, idiotic culture that we now live in, which consists of mostly bad talent like what we have in this Wrong Turn reboot. What a complete joke that Michael Everich loves and supports. Can't believe these people really hate being white so much.

It's an entirely different film under the name "Wrong Turn". I compare it more to something like Halloween 3, which has nothing to do with Michael Myers yet still has Halloween in the title. It pretty much threw everything that made the series away for something entirely different.

This movie has a lot of half-baked ideas that aren't ever fully fleshed out. The characters are typecast and, outside of the father, none of them stands out. This film also heavily relies on stereotypes that are so freaking cliche, I rolled my eyes countless times during the first 1/4 of this film because of it.

Honestly, Don't bother. If you are a genuine fan of the franchise, You'll be nothing but disappointed with this one.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is not a Wrong Turn movie. Nor is it a horror movie. The film features a colony of hold outs of the US civil war in the mountains of the midwest (who also apparently live in a normal town too?). The film sees a bunch of 20 somethings getting cut to pieces in the woods by traps before finding and killing the man in the deer skull outfit depicted on the movie cover who was apparently trying to help them get off the mountain (but apparently forgot how to speak English despite all the others in his colony seemingly speaking English)...this is the only time that the masked man with the axe is seen by the way, the movie cover is a shameless and cynical attempt to cash in on the success of the Wrong Turn horror franchise but in all honesty this movie is far closer to a modern reimagining of Deliverance than Wrong Turn. The film then becomes about one of the 20 something's father setting out to set her free and return her to her family, basically we've gone from Deliverance to some kind of rural version of Taken. Not sure how much time is meant to have passed between the first act and the second act but in that time his daughter has apparently become a world class archer and her ex-boyfriend has become a full blown cultist to the people he hated for reasons we never really see much of. The finale sees the colony leader and some friends of his rock up to her house in a campervan and she uses her new overnight ninja powers to kill them all...that's about the sum of it. The characterisation in this movie is bland, uninspired and 1 dimensional. In many instances the characters are doing stuff because the plot needs something to happen rather than because it makes sense. The movie stays firmly away from the concepts of inbreds, cannibalism or manhunting that largely defined the real Wrong Turn movies. There's a brief suggestion of inbreeding when they recruit those 20 somethings to their colony because they "have healthy blood" but there's no visible sign of inbreeding much less mutation and the colonists seem to yoyo between "only killing trespassers" and "not really killing anyone". Whilst nobody really had high expectations on this movie (the original is hardly 'The Godfather')I'm not sure anyone expected whatever the hell this movie is supposed to be. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Just plain awful and not as advertised. Boring characters with no ambition or reasons for their actions. Poorly written story with no real horror elements. The movie throws the most ridiculous curve ball at you 1 hour in and you have no choice but to finish at that point. Stay far away this mess. Very disappointed. Expand

it's just disgusting, very toxic tolerance, the viewer is forced to take the side of the villains and rejoice in their suffering

First of all. This isn't wrong turn. it's a complete reboot with a complete new story. only the name stays.

The movie is well produced but sadly it spends most of it's time with pushing a political agenda. The movie tries to paint everyone as smart and progressive except for white man. The white man from the protagonist group is aggressive and constantly makes bad choices to ruin it for everyone else, while the woke couples look at him in disgust. White males are the reason for everything bad happening in this movie in a very forced way.

halfway through the movie tries to change perspective and wants you to symphatisize with the antagonists. The movie even goes so far to paint communism as a great and better way to live...heck they even mention climate change.

This is not a movie...it's a political agenda and nothing else.

Many mention that there's a noticeable improvement over the 6 previous films. Yes, 6 films. And it's true.

But did they actually see them? 'Cause it clearly could've been worse, but it seems ridiculous to mention it as something positive,

What a spectacular set from building up immense care for all the well thought characters to the epic plot, also the beautiful ending was a freaking cherry on Top.

A smart horror film for smart people who don't require easy answers. (With a fantastically satisfying ending, to boot!)

No hay espacio para hacer comparaciones de ningun tipo. Wrong Turn (2021) es prácticamente una experiencia completamente nueva y fresca.

Meh. I never really got into this franchise, I think I saw the first two when they came out but had no interest in watching the sequels. I never really got into this franchise, I think I saw the first two when they came out but had no interest in watching the sequels. My memory of the two films was glorious gore and very little else. So going into this I am loosely expecting a mindless but fun violent gory splatterfest. In some ways this is what I got but in some ways I got a spaghetti horror that tries to be a Blumhouse film but fails in an existential way by being associated with a long running slasher series. It still nods to its roots and plays everything with seriousness. I think this would have been better if it wasn’t associated with the Wrong Turn franchise but then again no-one would have probably watched it as this is so forgettable. Because there is gore that isn’t as good as the earlier films, because there is a complex and winding story that isn’t that original, because none of the cast of characters are interesting I can only see this falling out of my memory within a few weeks. Not that it’s a bad film, it held my attention and I was interested. Either watch the original franchise before the reboot for mindless gore or watch something else for an original and interesting concept. Expand
