A bunch of teenagers break into the wonderland to rescue Cage and burn it down but two of them decide to go off alone and hump each other? Makes no sense as one of them had previously come close to going home out of fear. Grindhouse does not equal stupidity and a nonsensical narrative. The first two fights cage has with the animatronics are very lack lustre and him not speaking gets old very fast. It's a shame really as the premise is quite solid. The editing and special effects are pretty decent too. Expand

I'm just dumbfounded by everything. Firstly, the story: Without trying to spoil it, essentially the town all knows that they animatronics kill people, and yet they don't do anything about it other than making a 'deal' with them. Like, that is the best you got? Even FNAF's explanation was better than that. Second, the characters: Cage literally never talks, and at one point he just stop fighting because he needs to do his 'scheduled' break. The characters just die due to their lack of any survival or fighting instincts and literally put themselves into the danger. Some are just so stereo-typical, like the couple that decided they are going to get freaky in the building, even though they know there are animatronics that can kill them. GOD DAMN, these characters are even worse than most bad horror movies.

Thirdly, the editing and cinematography was bad. I understand this is a lower budget film, but that doesn't excuse the horrendous camera shake in the fight scenes and fast, chopping editing. Some scenes have blinking lights which actually hurt to watch. That being said, there were parts that I enjoyed, but I keep getting taken out of the movie every single second. This is a movie you watch drunk and think its good.

This one hits an all-time low and I imagine the only reason he took the job was that he didn’t have to learn any lines (he never speaks). His character ends up agreeing to clean the titular theme restaurant (apologies to Chuck E. Cheese), but the twist is… all the animatronics are possessed by evil spirits. Yes, it’s as ridiculous as it sounds. POTENTIALLY, there could have been an opportunity for campy humor and outrageous, cartoon violence, but it’s neither. The script is embarrassingly bad and the kills are just a bunch of furious punches, spraying blood and bits of gore. Nothing original, clever or remotely worth watching. Expand

I rate films on one principle only, "Is it any good?". I don't care if it's meant to be a brainless popcorn flick or an art piece vying for an award, doesn't matter to me, if it's no good I'll tell it like it is.

Willy's Wonderland is the worst thing I've seen in 2021 so far. I couldn't even begin to list off everything wrong with the film. From an unoriginal premise, to bad acting (most notably by the female lead), really dumb supporting characters, logic being thrown out every few minutes, and laughably bad special effects just to name a few things. The potential for something was there, but it was executed horribly.
What saves this from being a 0 is of course is the film's lone star actor, Nicholas Cage. While his character is a man of few words (if any at all), it is enjoyable watching him nonchalantly doing his job as the janitor and fighting demon animatronics, all the while taking a few breaks here and there.
As people would say, this is a movie you turn your brain off for, although there's no effort needed, you kinda start to drool as you watch along. I would best describe it as a C-Movie with a B-Movie budget. If you like Nick Cage and bad B-Movies, go for it. If you're looking for a serviceable horror flick, pass.

Not to mention the story is a complete rip off of Five Nights at Freddy's. The entire movie is laughably bad. During the movie Nicholas Cage continuously drinks a purple soda. Every time he drank the soda my theatre would yell I love a (certain purple drug). The movie is awful but extremely enjoyable to watch with friends. Not many movies have Nicholas Cage choke a robot ostrich. Expand
