The film's thought-provoking underpinnings, combined with an outstanding performance by Kristen Wiig, make this a captivating view, even if it's not necessarily everyone's cup of tea. Expand

Great performances by the entire cast, and an especially brave and powerful one from Kristen Wiig. Although this movie may offend, it may also touch you deeply as it craftily explores the lengths some may go to self-medicate through action and behavior. It made me laugh out loud, got me teary eyed and gave me some new insight and empathy into the complex world of mental illness. Funny, shocking and disturbing at times; this film is pure genius. "Welcome To Me" é um dos filmes mais incomuns de sempre, porém, este drama/comédia traz consigo uma premissa única e um humor bizarro. A atuação de Kristen Wiig é fantástica.

An incredible ensemble cast spearheaded by the fantastic Kristen Wiig tells the funny and heartbreaking story of Alice Klieg, a woman with borderline personality disorder who wins the lottery and uses the winnings to create a TV show about her life. I was rolling in my seat with laughter at one minute and on the edge of my seat the next. The rollercoaster/trainwreck unfolding before me in this movie was a sight to behold. The script is very strong, and gives a remarkably realistic portrayal of life with Borderline Personality Disorder. In a strange way, this movie is incredibly relevant. One only has to look up Christian Weston Chandler or DarkSydePhil to see what happens when the mentally ill are given exposure and enabled, and the damage they can do to themselves and loved ones as a result. The internet provides a platform that TV never could. In a way, Alice's journey is a mirror of what happens online everyday. This is a quirky, absurd, and at times surreal film, but there is never a dull moment. Alice's show is like something that would be aired on Adult Swim ironically as opposed to Alice's true presentation of events. If you like oddball movies that have an emotional message, please watch Welcome to Me. Expand

For some, expressing themselves means lot than being a rich.

This is actually a good film that misled by its low rating. But the end should have been really better, other than that the rest of the film was enjoyable. Another small scale movie and another excellent performance by Kristen Wiig. The story of a single woman with the borderline personality disorder. After winning the $80 million through the lottery draw, she decides to own a television show to talk about her personal life. She begins to lose her close ones as the result of her out talk about them, but can she fix it and how is the remaining.

This is a unique story, not like that you see it often in the movies. Apart from Wiig, the rest of the supporting cast was not bad, but very sad to see such a good looking wonderful actress like Linda Cardellin in a small role. If you hate slow pace, this movie might be an average to you, but others who won't mind will find it better. What I surprised to know is that most of the film critics thumb upped for it than the film goers. But I still suggest it, mainly for the film fanatics, just give it a try and so you might like it than what you've heard about it.
