I was both thoroughly enjoyed and moved by Welcome to Marwen. It touched on a point that is rarely cared about in society today but exists in many people. It touched on a point that is rarely cared about in society today but exists in many people. Nobody in the world is truly the same yet we are expected to follow a set forth path in life, conforming to the mass majority but that's not what life is about. Its about living, loving and enjoying each of our own passions regardless of what they may be and that no one should be judged for being different or expected to conform to the mass majority and if anything this movies' reviews and sales prove exactly what its trying to show, that people judge indifference negatively. It has a true story and it tells it perfectly. Expand

Este filme é uma linda arte. A preocupação de mostrar detalhes dos bonecos é impressionante!

This is a very imaginative, well-crafted glimpse into the mind and world of an artist man working with new limitations and fears. Flows seamlessly and cleverly between the miniature characters come to life and real life. Hard to understandThis is a very imaginative, well-crafted glimpse into the mind and world of an artist man working with new limitations and fears. Flows seamlessly and cleverly between the miniature characters come to life and real life. Hard to understand the low average critic review score, but glad to see Richard Roeper got it right. It's very different, so I suppose some critics didn't know what to do with it (but got it wrong!). I recommend this masterpiece from Robert Zemeckis and team! Expand

A Fantastic Yet Difficult Story To Convey - An Effort Worth Viewing

This was a difficult story to tell, as the subject matter could have been told to an R-rated audience or a PG-13 audience, and Robert Zemeckis chose the latter. Now, Robert Zemeckis is one of the greatest storytellers ever, whether it be through Screenplay, Directing or Producing-he has been the source of some of the greatest films in the 20th and 21st Century. Welcome to Marwen is a complex tale that involves issues of war, violence, hate crime, drug addiction, alcoholism, suicide, mental health-just to name a few and Mr. Zemeckis combined all those subjects to tell a story of a man who overcame all that and more. Those that can relate to the issues experienced by Steve Carell's character, the feeling of being alone and of isolation, are the folk that really enjoyed this film.

I rarely address what others review about a film, but Welcome to Marwen was butchered with bad reviews in which 90% of the reviewers have no education nor experience in reviewing films but spew their garbage out for the world to see because they saved enough of their allowance to buy a domain and a website. Welcome to Marwen in no way deserved such negative response, and it is in my opinion that not only were more positive responses held back but that an orchestrated campaign to hurt the film's reputation was also at play.

Much better than I was led to believe by the movie's reception when it was released. The main character's catharsis seems real and impactful, and the movie avoids many usual "based on a true story" tropes it could have become mired in. TheMuch better than I was led to believe by the movie's reception when it was released. The main character's catharsis seems real and impactful, and the movie avoids many usual "based on a true story" tropes it could have become mired in. The expert use of VFX helped me to understand better how the model-making acted as form of therapy, following unspeakable trauma. There are dream-like qualities in this movie, which actually made me feel closer to this man who had been left with a tenuous grip on reality. I would certainly recommend this movie, especially if, like me, you're bored of conventional awards-bait biopics. Expand
