A laugh-out loud physical comedy which has stood the test of the time and developed a solid cult classic. Very entertaining performances from Silverman and McCarthy keep the plot engaging throughout.

Weekend at Bernie’s has become somewhat of a cult favourite over the years, and I’m sure even those that haven’t seen it will be familiar with the premise. To it’s credit it does at first manage to mine a few laughs out of what is essentially one joke, but stretched over an hour and a half it does start to become a little (no pun intended!) stale.… Expand

A classic comedy, that deserves a much better score. Just take a look at "modern" comedies and you'll know the difference. Solid 10.

Classic comedy from the 80's, with unusual plot.
I watched it back in the days, when I was youger, and I find it very funny.
Watching It now...decades later...I find that his humor isn't stellar and it is a slow movie..but it does his job.Classic comedy from the 80's, with unusual plot.

Those who were young in thes 80's and 90's will like it for Nostalgia (clothes, haircut, slang, places, mood...and so on) and yougers can have a genuine laugh, even if it is not the best… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I laughed twice during this "comedy" movie, and both laughs occurred in the last 15 min of the movie. So I had to wait over an hour for 2 laughs. Total waste of my time and would not recommend this movie to anyone. The plot and jokes are based off a very sophisticated premise that bernie is dead, but no one seems to notice. This is time I will never get back. To the writers, you are some of the laziest, dumb morons in all of entertainment. To the fans of this movie, when I am president one day, I will throw you in jail or send you to Delaware with a copy of this movie on VHS to live out the rest of your days as punishment for supporting such a travesty. I might even send Chevy Chase to join you because he is about as funny as this movie… Expand
