A total cult classic. Myers and Carvey play off each other so well. I think the possible reason for mixed views is there is a lot of inside rock jokes that many boring critics might not get. This is truely hilarious,so quotable and so good.

They break the forth wall, have tons of great references, and a plethora of quotable lines. Most importantly the movie stays laugh-out-loud funny throughout.

Plot takes backseat to the humor and for once that's not a bad thing. The main plot line surrounding their show getting bought by a greedy producer goes without a real resolution. It doesn't really matter. The focus here is on the jokes and it delivers them with such glee that it's hard not to love them. It's absolutely hilarious and I highly recommend watching it.

I give "Wayne's World" a 9.3/10.

Long before Austin Powers Mike Myers introduced us to Wayne's World.

Starting life as a sketch on Saturday Night Live the plot of both is largely irrelevant to be honest, serving as little more than an excuse to get from one comic sketch to the next. Fortunately Wayne's World succeeds where many other SNL sketches have failed. Featuring all manner of unexpected cameos, a plethora of fantastically funny scenes as well as a great rock soundtrack this is a joyous comedy that can be watched time and time again.

Mike Myers is great in the lead role and the writing is also very strong, as are, admittedly, very many catch phrases that have had a life beyond the movie and that really speaks to the writing here. The story is also interesting to some degree, but is entirely cliche, unlikely, and done before. The acting beyond Myers is also poor, especially Dana Carvey. I think his mannerisms here were supposed to be funny, but...they just never were. As a whole, it seems like they took a skit from SNL and made it into a movie (which they did do) without adding any additional funny jokes (there were plenty of other jokes but they just were not even close to being funny). This one is not dreadful because it does hold your interest and, as I said, Myers is very good here, however, I do wish it was funnier and lived up to the hype. Expand

Wayne and Garth deliver laugh after laugh (calling every stuck-up, hardass) under the sun. If you loved the nineties and love to party, Wayne's World is simply a perfect take on the slobbish love life with comical results. Expand

I do agree that some parts were laughable like when Myer's character out of no where sponsors products intentionally for laughs at the camera or Myer's character's recurring ex-girlfriend sub plot. But there wasn't really any wit or intelligence to this movie, nor any consistency to the plot. Granted the film knows what it is, it is a stupid comedy making fun of people acting stupid. I might have to give this one a second viewing, but I came away from this one disappointed by the abrupt ending and how little I cared about the characters. 6/10 Expand

Also, the movie's got a decent plot going for it and some hilarious fight scenes. Finally, that Terminator 2 reference is golden and it's honestly brilliant. Overall, this movie is probably one of the funniest comedy movies I've watched in a while and there's some good ones out there but this has to be one of the best in my opinion, worth the watch.

Also, I forgot to mention this movie is quotable like **** and I love it.

Pretty solid comedy. It has just enough eccentricity to make it stand out and be entertaining. It’s just not good enough to warrant anything above a 6.
