Wall-E is, by far, one the best films I have ever seen in my life. Wall-E definatly has what it takes to win 'The Best Picture Oscar 2009'.

It was a cute film but I felt it was trying to shove the environmental crap down our throats. I get it that we are fat pigs that pollute the planet. Alright already I'll- reuse, reduce and recycle. Although I admit it is on par for a pixar film.

Prior to watching this film, i was told by a number of people the level of expertise this film had, so i went into this film seeing it as a masterpiece and i wasn't wrong.. The level of detail is quite amazing, and most probably the best looking animated film to date. The movie itself started off very interesting leading you through the daily life of the character "wall e", his daily routines and slowly begins to unfold to a story about humanity returning to earth. The opening of the movie got me hooked right into the movie and i was enjoy every second of it. As the movie progresses, the level of style is dramatically changed as we are taken on a journey with wall e to an aircraft that holds current humanity. the style humanity was conveyed was very interesting as are over weight and fly around all day living an un-natural world. As film progressed, i couldn't help to feel a different approach towards the film as a whole, the beginning was amazing... but then it began to stretch into the old routine of posting the story to the viewers, and ended up turning into a tory about the relation ship between EVE and WALL E as well as to relocate humanity on earth. As a whole i did enjoy this movie, especially the into scenes but as the movie progressed, it began to die down. Thank god the produces didnt make the film any longer than it already is as it might of gotten boring at some parts. If you havnt seen this movie, i highly recommend you go rent it or buy it on dvd, or blue ray for the ultimate experience!!! Expand

I had the privilege of seeing it as the same time as the Exec. Producer's family, so the atmosphere in the theater was as "out of this world" as the stunning visuals the movie delivered (the pun is very much intended). It's an animation milestone and a heartwarming, funny movie, making it a must-see. Some complain it was too long, but my friends agree that it definitely could have used at least a half-hour more. I would have been happy to stay there, marveling at the movies depth for another 60 minutes. However, the movie was a mere 90 minutes, with at least a third being simply an introduction to Wall-E and Eve. It left just enough time to give a satisfying conflict and resolution, but it felt rushed. I really want to give this a 10, but the structure problems are disappointing. Really, though, such a gripe is minor. You have to see this movie, and the older you are, the more esoterica you will pick up on. Expand

I was enthralled from start to finish, much like the classic silent cartoons of old (loony tunes esp) the sheer brilliance without dialog is just outstanding. The main story wasn't complex at all and it didn't matter. The undertones are just bleak as heck yet done with such wit and care to not be preachy or too overwhelmingly depressing. Bravo Pixar--such a great, moving little film. I'm so glad there are people out there able to make movies like this. BUT, when you first get your tickets at the theater, the staff gives you a little plastic watch with some movies cards wrapped in plastic. Everything but the watch gets thrown on the floor by the little kids or their parents. Next, you sit down to watch a wonderful film telling us that our consumerism of garbage is going to destroy our planet. My two and a half year old was completing mesmerized and didn't move for the ENTIRE movie. When it was over he said, "let's watch it again." Then he said, "let's go to the toy store and buy one," which we did not and will not do. BUT we could if we wanted to because the full toy line is available at your local mega toy store. Oh the irony. Maybe Pixar just couldn't fight the usual contracts for merchandising. I wish they had. Go see it. Don't get the watch, don't buy the toys, take the message to heart. Expand

It's a no-brainer that Pixar's latest, a futuristic tale of a scruffy little trash-collecting robot left behind on earth to do its job long after all the human residents left, who falls in love with a sleeker model, would've been a strong Top 10 contender in both the Animation and Science Fiction genres, but consider the AFI's #1 choice for Best Romantic Comedy: City Lights, the 1931 Charlie Chaplin film that Chaplin resolutely made as a silent even after silent movies had gone the way of the passenger pigeon. Well, WALL-E (the first two thirds, anyway) is PRACTICALLY a silent: there's no real dialogue since WALL-E's and EVE's conversations consist entirely of whirrs, clicks, beeps and the repitition of their own and each other's names, but that's all you need--if WALL-E's pursuit of EVE doesn't steal your heart, then ANY famous screen robot--say, Robby or Gort--has more of one than you do. It goes without saying that Pixar keeps raising the bar (and, bless 'em, has caused rival animation studios to up THEIR games: DreamWorks' Kung Fu Panda and Blue Sky's Horton Hears A Who! represent their best efforts yet) but who would've guessed that the visuals of our deserted planet so effortlessly blend live-action and animation art, or at least that's what I THINK they do, that Robert Zemeckis, who's been trying hard for a similar effect with both The Polar Express and Beowulf, must've been in the theater feverishly taking notes during repeated viewings, or that WALL-E would replicate and enhance so many of Stanley Kubrick's themes and ideas, while adding in abundance the one quality that Kubrick completely lacks (except in Spartacus, which he disowned): warmth? The first two acts of WALL-E are so extraordinary that the final third, in which WALL-E and EVE learn where the earthlings went (and we get treated to The Obligatory John Ratzenberger Pixar Vocal Appearance) is inevitably going to be something of a letdown, and indeed it's just a bit too preachy and on-the-nose for me to completely wrap myself around it, but even here it's hard not to admire writer-director Andrew Stanton's utter chutzpah. His critique of a spoiled and overly-indulged consumerist society is pretty hard to resist, especially given that Pixar and Disney are themselves huge corporations relying on huge DVD and video-game sales of films like WALL-E, whose partial message is, "Hey, you kids, turn off that damn TV/computer and go outside and get some exercise!" And I love the way that WALL-E's depiction of "Buy-N-Large" is no doubt causing blood pressures to rise in the boardrooms of a certain mega-concern, who can certainly refuse to sell Robert Greenwald's documentary Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price but knows that boycotting DVDs of THIS movie would be absolute financial stupidity, even if most first graders in the audience have no problem making certain connections. One more note concerning the title character and hero: a few years ago I commented on this site that one of the many problems with Blue Sky's Robots was that it's impossible to make sharp-edged, metallic, non-furry creatures (or, more accurately, creations) cuddly and lovable. It takes a big man to admit he's wrong. Call me big. Expand

An animated film that surpasses the typical animation fare and even live-action fare. Emotional, funny, touching, and fun. A welcome reprieve from the nonsensical low-brow animated and live action films that inundates theaters nowadays. Those dissing this are of the minority. Anybody who has a willing heart will no doubt connect with the characters. This film is not for those people-adults and kids alike-with short attention spans, the type who needs wall to wall mindless and pointless crass humor and explosions to keep them entertained. Wall-E is on a desolate Earth, and the future sucks. A lot. Its beautiful, but due to the desolation is very dark. He's a very cute little robot, and he takes good care of his little collection of objects. Then he finds a pet cockroach and a pet plant and takes care of them as well, and finally, he meets the first other "real" character - EVE. The people at Pixar did a wonderful job making the robots look great and convey emotion, and the movie is a pretty good romance set in a pretty depressing future. I have to give it a perfect score because it is the pinnacle of movie-making and the best film of 2008. Its wonderful, touching, funny, heartwarming, and depressing, all in a rated G movie. Expand

Wall-E is even better than I remember it. Wall-E is an ingenious film that occurs thousands of years in the future. Humans no longer live on the Earth due to pollution, they instead live in a giant spaceship, called the Axim. The Wall-E robots are left at Earth to clean up the mess. All of the Wall-E's, however, have been wiped out over time. Only one remains. But when EVE, a robot from the Axim, comes to Earth to find life, Wall-E's life is flipped upside down. The first half-hour of the film is performed with minimal dialogue, but still mananges to express all kinds of emotion: Laughter, loneliness, perhaps even sadness. I cried multiple times throughout the film. The animation is gorgeous, even for today. And the musical score, composed by Thomas Newman, is excellent. There really isn't any sort of flaw to this film. It's entertaining, it's funny, it has a lot of heart, there's amazing animation, and an impressive musical score. Of course, I haven't even touched base on the best aspect of the film: the characters. Wall-E has, perhaps, some of the most memorable (and hilarious) characters in all Pixar history. From the quirky Wall-E, to the grumpy M-O, to the rotund captain of the Axim, there's an endless abundance of charming cast members. Wall-E is easily one of the greatest films ever made. Period.
