There's quality in the production, and intrigue in the premise, but in everything else it seems that an extreme laziness took hold of those involved in this tedious, inefficient, predictable and mostly empty science fiction story.

There's quality in the production, and intrigue in the premise, but in everything else it seems that an extreme laziness took hold of those involved in this tedious, inefficient, predictable and mostly empty science fiction story.

Zero interest in their characters and zero interest in their fate.
No development for them, and therefore you don't engage with them.

If that doesn't set off your alarms right away, I don't know what else could do it. If so, maybe you will find something here that I simply couldn't.

Voyagers is a rather lazy attempt of exploring topics like groupthink, lawlessness and fear mongering. Wildly evocative and almost unbearable to watch, this movie doesn’t pull any punches. I had to watch it in several separate sittings as the atmosphere they pull off was really intense for me. I had to watch it in several separate sittings as the atmosphere they pull off was really intense for me. That said I don’t think I love the cinematography. I really don’t like some of the editing choices that felt very over used as a way for suggesting what they where “showing” through fast cuts on screen. The easiest way to sum this film up is “Lord of the Flys…in Space.” The thing is that’s not an entirely fare review. The parallels are there, but there really is a lot more to it. I gave it a lower score because I couldn’t watch this again, but if you are a diehard sci-fi fan there is quite a bit to like here. Other then that I can’t recommend it. The final thing I will say is that this kind of film relies heavily on music and sound design. While both are very familiar in composition and style, they do their job very well and stand out in a good way. Expand

Entertaining I guess, Interesting plot, it had potential. However, the acting is a bit off, borderline right between satirical and bad.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. no drama, childish plots, empty & bland story, boring & simple climax, terrible fight scenes, sci-fi that lacks sci-fi, and there's not enough casts.

The story revolved too much around the ship. A mission led by scientists to save human species and they were never seen during the mission

The transmission is so slow it takes months before it reach Earth. It could be possible if they're light-years away. But even if they're just 1 light-year away, the ship would be traveling nearly 2 million km per second if 10 years have elapsed since it took off.
In comparison, voyager 1 was 0.00063 light-years away 13 years after it took off and have a 10-hour delay between transmissions.

The spaceship's gravity and speed was never mentioned, nor the distance of the exoplanet. It's just a quick narrative of among us, a parody.

What a wasted premise. It could've been an interesting piece exploring the nature vs nurture part of the crew but it just kinda devolves into your average "kids with no adult supervision" film.

Overall was not a bad movie and I feel like they left an opening for a sequel. I wouldn't say it was an overall great or bad movie the acting could have been better. I wouldn't watch the movie again but would be interested in a sequel. IfOverall was not a bad movie and I feel like they left an opening for a sequel. I wouldn't say it was an overall great or bad movie the acting could have been better. I wouldn't watch the movie again but would be interested in a sequel. If you haven't watched it, it is worth a watch even more so if you are into sci fi movies with an underlying statement. Expand
