Examines this subject better than any film I have ever seen I would say. Also examines explotation of native peoples lands for resources, although that has been going on for centuries in Africa so that arc was less compelling to me. It didn't really go into why that happens, but just made one side look like the "bad guys". The destruction to the nature though was very compelling, no matter whose fault it was, and made it a good film. Expand

An insightful look at tragedy in the Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The film is cinematic and plays like fiction - if only it actually were fiction.

Three words: Netflix's best film. Period. Virunga brings up big fun with big war in a big documentary and that's how Virunga ends up being related to the never-going-to-happen-unless-someone-is-dumb-enough-to-cause-another-war World War III.

Amazing documentary. All responsible citizens must watch how corporations like SOCO are destroying nature and communities by buying corrupt authorities off.

This film, after maybe 10 minutes in it got me, and it got me real hard. This didn't felt like a documentary. It made me question my life, it made me question how to make films. If there were any justice in the world, this would be bigger than The Avengers. Expand
