I do believe that every baby has their own spirit and personality. Each one of them is special and unique. Even the twins have the different DNA. Baby is innocent. You can decide to remove the baby. They just never have a chance to discover the beauty of love. Love is everything. Love never fails.

Keeping this short because I don't like too delve to deeply into highlights or criticisms with these types of films, but I just have to mention that these critics have zero credibility.

The film is trying to tell the story of how someone changed their views on one of the most divisive issues in America, they did this more than adequately. The storytelling did seem genuine and the evidence is provided to support all the hypotheses. Let's just call it how it is, critics do not rate the quality of the movie, they are rating it based on the contradiction of their own views, it is absolutely abhorrent and they should not be taken seriously anymore. They did the same thing with Death of a Nation, keep your personal politics out of your writing, keep it objective, or let someone who can remain non-partisan do the writing for you.

Oh and a nice fun side note, I'd say my views sit in the middle, and I am most definitely pro-choice, but unlike these critics, I am capable of listening to the opposing sides views and having open discussions without hiding behind a blue checkmark or fake title like "Journalist" or "Film critic", and review bombing because of my political beliefs. Absolutely pathetic.

Most of the Hollywood critics reviewing this are Progressive, Liberal, Lefties who give all their causes a plus 10. They champion Marxist-Socialist causes and secular idealism. They profess equality for all but really just want to make sure they are the ones who receive the greatest benefits. See 'Communism', Venezuela, Russia, Totalitarianism, Dictatorships, the U.N. Expand

I am not hard-line pro-life, but this movie is a great testimony, and everyone should take a moment to watch it.Many of the ridiculous negative reviews are ironically coming from men, whom the pro-abortion feminists, ironically, do not want the opinions of and claim it is none of their business. I am just giving it a 10 to counter the absolutely stupid and irrational 0 ratings; although I do not often do this, I feel like in this case it is important to do so to show support for this movie, which it undoubtedly deserves. The so-called 'critics' should be ashamed of themselves. Coming from an atheist woman, who just believes that we should seek to limit the number of unwanted pregnancies rather than turn to abortion as a contraceptive method. Instead, this movie remainedUnplanned tells the biography of Abby Johnson, a clinic director at Planned Parenthood who left because of what she saw. I expected this to be a “made for TV” class hit piece that glorified the pro-life movement. Instead, this movie remained very true to the facts and included events both positive and negative to both sides. The production values are not exceptional but, considering the budget, the results are commendable. The move does show Planned Parenthood in a fairly bad light. Unfortunately, it is an accurate one. The facts are all well documented from multiple sources and can be easily verified. Knowing that, this story becomes very compelling and convicting. I’m surprised by some of the negative comments from other “professional” reviewers on this site. Owen Gleiberman claims “at certain points twisting "facts" into a narrative of conspiracy” this is simply not true. I expected this type of narrative but was surprised to find it wasn’t there. The facts, including the ones that have conspiratorial implications, are well and clearly documented. I was happily surprised to find minimal spin. Perhaps Gleiberman has taken a more biased view than he admits.

Vadim Risov states the movie is “parable traced over a Chick track”. I must agree with the soundtrack being very chick flick in style but this isn’t a parable. It is a surprisingly accurate portrayal of well-documented events. I’m saddened that the reviews are not as accurate as the movie. Seems like there really is an agenda with the “professional” reviews that wish to obfuscate the truth.

I experienced a feeling ofThat I went to see a movie tonight was literally not expected, but my husband and I make a point of doing significant activities together (for example, we explored Gettysburg battlefield for our anniversary). I experienced a feeling of concern at what I was about to see on the way to the theater. I expected to find the movie at least draining, and most likely painful to watch.

Instead, it left me feeling positive and uplifted. It's even-handed and sympathetic treatment of a difficult subject allowed an important conversation play out in a very well done film.

It's mission is to spread hope, the value of relationship building even in the midst of disagreement, and the need for people to truly support one another. It does not shy away from painful detail, but at specific moments and for the purpose of portraying the physical and emotional toll abortion takes on mothers (and their families). Almost every character on both sides of the fence is treated with respect, sympathy, and thoughtfulness with the only exception being the "corporate greed" character, who is also the only one pushing a specific agenda with no thought or concern for others.

It is both powerful and sweet at times, with some lighthearted and appropriate family life laughs thrown in. Like it's title, it's not what I expected. It's so much more.

Since its central topic is a hot-button political issue today, review bias may ensue. Quality reviewers must put aside their political viewpoints in favor of unbiased reviewing. I write this review as a conservative Catholic against any kind of abortion.

The MPAA R rating is suitable here because of Unplanned's use of blood. Thus, if one has a fear of seeing blood, one should not see this film. Still, the movie simulates no partial-birth abortions and refrains from maximal gore. Something to consider is that abortions currently happen every day and are graphic. This is true regardless of one's viewpoint on whether that is a fetus or a person.

From an artistic standpoint, Unplanned is less than perfect. Someone else could have played Abby Johnson. Or Ashley Bratcher could have done a better acting job. Artistry is not the chief intent of this film, and it shows. That is no excuse for sub-par production. Still, Unplanned's production quality is two notches higher than most Christian movies today. Jared Lotz does a good job in his role of Shawn Carney, CEO of 40 Days for Life. Kaiser Johnson does an exceptional job in his role as Abby Johnson's lawyer.

The film's soundtrack is actually good. Several of the songs add depth and auditory beauty to its scenes. Matthew West tops it off with a well-placed song at the end credits.

In general, children under 14 years of age should not see Unplanned even with a parent. Everyone above that age should watch it once.

Wade decision, and continues to push in this era. Even Dr. Bernard Nathanson (the late former NY City abortionist and one of the founders of NARAL) and the late Norma McCorvey ("the real "Jane Roe" who also turned to support the Pro-Life cause) revealed, the abortion lobby made up statistics and created dubious "facts" to push their agenda, justifying it at the time that "the end justified the means." Like the recent "Gosnell" film, the script in "Unplanned" takes factually accurate information. Abby Johnson's real-life professional experience with corporate Planned Parenthood pulls away the curtain to expose the ugly truths about what occurs in an actual abortion, and presents it....something Planned Parenthood and the political left are loathe to face. In any other area of surgical medicine, a physician or "health care provider" would be sued for malpractice for failure to get a patient's fully-informed consent. In the abortion realm, obfuscating the facts about what occurs to the baby in utero (as well as soft-pedaling the risks on the mother-patient) the willful lack of full and relevant disclosure is celebrated AND for purely political purposes, protected by overreaching judicial legislating. As for the snide remark by one of the reviewers which contrasts Planned Parenthood's non-profit status versus the film producers' lack of such, the recent exposure of Planned Parenthood's illegal and heinous sales of baby body parts for profit belie its "not-for-profit" claim. The factual information provided concerning the scientific discoveries since Roe v. Wade was handed down (evidence of heartbeat at very early stage, the infant's capability of sensing pain, the evidence of a brainwave, etc.) clearly counters the abortion industry's narrative and the radical leftist push to expand abortion even late into pregnancy and, as demonstrated by the statements of recent politicians and liberal-leftist opposition to passage of "born alive" protections for babies who survive a late-term abortion. As Justice Sandra Day O'Connor wrote in a concurring opinion in the 1980's, although O'Connor upheld the Roe precedent, she conceded that as medical procedures to save lives in the womb are developed, and as scientific discoveries which were not available in 1973 shed more information about the factual revelations as to fetal development so as to push fetal viability earlier in pregnancy, Roe is "....on a collision course with itself." And as renowned pediatrician scientist / geneticist Jerome Lejune lamented in his opposition to abortion, the entire history of obstetric medicine recognized that the doctor has an equal obligation to the welfare of TWO PATIENTS, the mother AND the baby. The efforts by the radical left to dehumanize the in-utero human being has created an impression in the culture of current popular error that the baby is "not a person." But "Unplanned" defies the science-denier errors by exposing the truth about abortion and its destructive results, for both the millions of babies who have been garroted and poisoned to death in the womb, but also the psychological damage inflicted on women who might have otherwise made a different choice if all facts and full disclosures as to long-term consequences and damages had been made prior to hard-selling vulnerable patients. Organizations like Planned Parenthood can't afford the disinfecting light of the full medical truths about the short-term risks and the negative long-term consequences of abortion. Expand

That's nothing new as there have been hundreds of movies produced like this for years that have that exact audience dynamic. The new bit is they paid a few people to really go the extra mile to try to produce and market it as something more slick and less clunky. It doesn't quite hit the mark as it as. As with all those older movies, the characters have as much dimension to them as a New York ad-man and the story as much truth to it as the words that ad-man tried to use to sell you something. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. We went to see Unplanned on opening night, and noticed the lone Marquee for the movie had been broken and the poster destroyed. We checked the reviews, and noticed the negative ones all mentioned who they hate in the first 3 words...Republicans...Christians... So we were really curious to see what this film had to offer. It turned out to be a first rate mainstream movie and surprisingly fair. More than I would have been armed with the same knowledge. Frankly, it was no surprise to hear Planned Parenthood was pushing very profitable abortions at a rate of 38 a weekend in the one clinic. What was new was the detail on the mechanics of how they do what they do. At times, viewers felt like we had an undercover narc's view of an MS-13 shooting...except the narc was one of them till the end. It wasn't till the last 15 minutes, that the star Ashley Bratcher joined the rest of us in horror. If I had to pick a film that left me with the same feeling by the end, it would be Erin Brockovich. No matter what your starting position, you will learn a lot from this film. I recommend it highly. Expand

In the end the movie tells a story, and you will have to decide whether you believe her or not. The movie itself is simplistic, but the first 10 minutes will shock you. You will be uncomfortable at what you are watching. That's the idea. That's the point. In fact I highly recommend anyone who is pro-choice, to at least watch the first ten minutes of this movie. It is.... moving, and just.... you need to see it. Everyone needs to see that. Regardless if you think Abby's account is over the top, regardless if you think the movie is propaganda, the one scene in Procedure Room 2 is devastating and it is exactly what Abby Johnson saw. That scene in itself should be the scene that either tells you, believe in Abby or not. I believe her. I think her account should be heard and I think it's worth people to watch the movie and understand what happens in a Planned Parenthood. The movie itself is basically an account of what happens in the clinic. The rest is rather basic for a movie. The acting is certainly not top notch. The budget is certainly tight. But I found the elements effective for the message it was making, and I found the conversion story intriguing. I was not bored watching the movie and I felt the pace was fine. I think it could have been edited shorter, but I wasn't looking at my watch or bored with characters. Unplanned is a good movie. It's not an excellent movie, but it is effective. The message is clear and it is a good message. I recommend it. Expand

The movie chronicles the real life journey of a Planned Parenthood worker's journey from supporting to opposing abortion. The movie does not pretend to be a even-handed account of abortion (and in my opinion, it shouldn't), so if you want to see a debate between two opposing positions, this movie will not provide that. Rather, as tastefully as possible, it shows the effects of abortion on both the women patients, the workers and the child victims. For those who are concerned about graphic images, the movie does not have any scenes that are inappropriately graphic, although some scenes are emotionally very difficult to watch. While not a fun movie to watch, it will give you something to think about and discuss for a long time after you leave the theater. As a parent of two daughters, I believe the movie is appropriate for adolescents age 15 and up. Expand

This movie will appeal to viewers looking for a film to reinforce their own ignorant and skewed vision of Planned Parenthood. I'm pro-life and this movie did not appeal to me at all. All of the 'facts' presented in this movie are easily proven false with very little research.

In summation, this is a lazy and unimaginative work of fiction.

1. Is this movie powerful?
Almost all critics rate it 1 or 0 stars, while being best seller on amazon. It is so powerful they feel the urge to fight it. For me it was close to "La vita e bella" as emotion, but more powerful, with slightly less performance and budget. Less humor, but inspired from real life.
2. Is it pure propaganda? I'm afraid pure propaganda are these 'critic' reviews. How else can you call them when all they try to do is manipulate people into not watching it, at any cost?
3. Full of lies?
When behemoth Planned parenthood puts its money to find any flaws, they will probably come up with something, even if that means childish remarks as fact x did not happen in day y, but two days earlier. For them this is enough to state that facts are not accurate, hoping once again to discredit the movie. You can actually check that this was their finding.
4. Can the critics be so biased? They seem to be accurate on most movies.
Go check yourself. After seeing it, I was sure that any heart would be touched by it.

Seeking forgiveness and redemption, she walked away from her corporate career to continue helping pregnant women in crisis... but to actually help them, not just convince them to kill their children.
Is there blood? Yes. But only in the context of realistic medical procedures and emergencies. It's not much worse than a typical episode of M*A*S*H.
Is there violence? Only against fetuses, and a news broadcast that states a murder occurred.
Frankly, the only things any reasonable person could find offensive in this movie are an honest portrayal of pro-life Christians and a brutally honest portrayal of a horrific billion-dollar industry.

It was an awesome movie and the other side of abortion. Everyone should see it. I still think a woman's choice should be legal, but I also believe as a society, we need to be making better choices. There is no reason anyone should be having an unwanted pregnancy nowadays. We have so much birth control, men and women should be using it--doubling up on it, meaning both should be using birth control. Next, we shouldn't be having sex with anyone we wouldn't want to have a kid with. Bottom line--don't get pregnant and don't get anyone pregnant! Don't put yourself in a spot to have to make this horrible decision. Because, if you do and you make the decision to get an abortion? It's something you'll live with all your life. It's not a victimless crime on any level. It affects all. It's the baby that's missing, when you finally do have kids, and even with a good reason to terminate the pregnancy--the better decision is make sure you Don't Get Pregnant or make anyone pregnant! And if the only sure way to do that is to not have sex? Then don't have sex until you're willing to deal with the consequences of you having sex. It's not worth it! You'll carry it forever. It's life and snuffing it out, doesn't change that fact. Don't lay down, if you aren't prepared to raise a healthy happy, and well-adjusted person into the world. Abortion is not birth control. Just make better decisions instead! Expand

Gypsy critics only care about the feelings of the woman involved in an abortion. "It would be an outrage if she had to raise a child instead of use murder as birth control. Its her legal right to kill something connected to her." Fine, youGypsy critics only care about the feelings of the woman involved in an abortion. "It would be an outrage if she had to raise a child instead of use murder as birth control. Its her legal right to kill something connected to her." Fine, you can advocate feckless selfishness over conscience, its your right. But stop shutting out the reality of how abortion is accomplished and how the waste is handled. This movie shows how someone can finally wake up to that reality.

The critics are calling it "ridiculous" that someone would have a moral catharsis about any form of legal murder. And the gypsy critic community calls it "propaganda" against fellow gypsies who want to use abortion as birth control. Its intellectually dishonest to ignore the life of the child as the critics have done. Those critics were once "piles of cells" themselves, I guess its ok to back in time and abort them.

In this particular case story of a woman who worked for planned parenthood.

question for those people who say it is a propaganda movie, would you say the same thing for movies which portraits story of Nazi concentration camp survivors? would you say it is Jewish propaganda? what about the movie about Martin Luther King? is it propaganda too? or just a story of his life? for me, it is a story of a woman who worked for planned parenthood that is it. not propaganda definitely.

The critics are idiots. From a completely non-religious standpoint, this movie is absolutely powerful. Characters and story arcs well developed. Thought-provoking and thorough.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Regardless of your views on abortion, this movie is god awful. On a technical level, it sucks. The characters are exaggerated to hell, with the villains being incredibly evil and the good guys being saints, and nobody acts like a real human being. The main character is so nieve that you can't feel any sympathy for her. The camerawork and lighting is boring and makes this feel like a TV movie or straight to video film. The portrayal of abortion legitimately made me laugh in the theater. The abortion scene where a fetus gets sucked through a tube is completely wrong in that A) it would be illegal to abort a fetus that fully formed unless the mother would die as a result of the birth and B) None or very little abortions are performed in that manner. There is a scene where the manager of Planned Parenthood takes the main character to a room where they keep fetuses in crates, which was so dumb that I laughed. The film portrayed all the Christian protesters as happy young people who are really peaceful (which is weird considering religion is dying amongst young people and it would be more realistic if the protestors were a bit older) and just kinda glossed over how much harassment women seeking abortions face. In the end, the main character cries about the abortions she had, which is extremely sappy and forced. I can't recommend anybody see this movie. The people that this film cater to already think abortion is bad, so it's not gonna change their view, and I can't see any pro-choice people being swayed by this awful piece of **** Expand

I am pro abortion to a degree, and I certainly lean liberal on this (aside from later term abortions). I find it prettt gross that I can instantly guess what a movie's reviews are going to be based on the politics. A **** movies that allowsI am pro abortion to a degree, and I certainly lean liberal on this (aside from later term abortions). I find it prettt gross that I can instantly guess what a movie's reviews are going to be based on the politics. A **** movies that allows liberal leaning people to enjoy a masturbatory fantasy where they have the right ideas will always get at least decent reviews, even if its amateurish **** (see mohawk). I have no idea if this or other conservative seeming movies are any good but they will always be universally panned by the disgustingly biased critics. Im certainly more liberal than conservative but I belive art sululd be taken objectibely. This type of shut is why despite agreeing more with liberals...I hate them more than most groups in America. Low quality propaganda not deserving of being called a film. Laughable that it was made by two men who will never have to experience the choice of having an abortion

Fala de assunto serio e importante que é o aborto, mas de uma forma muito cansativa, apesar de ser um pouco emocionante

Excellent movie. Those who diss it for being a movie that is pro life, what did you think it would be? Truly egregious that Hollywood cronies can only follow the views expressed in their political echo chamber. Props for the movie producersExcellent movie. Props for the movie producers for taking the risk they did. As far as films go, the camerawork and direction were well done on the relatively small budget. Expand
