This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. (mild spoilers) saw the movie 1 hour ago. i have to say after seeing everyoone of them in Cinema besides the 1st (saw T3 in 3D). after watching T4 which was ok and could be a little bit better, T5 was brilliant, they focused more on the main plot, added more swearing and jokes that worked at the right time, they killed off some of the funny decepticons and added more autobots (more quips) they made Hot Rod a bad ass, and with Cod he was something the franchise needed. though the trailer is basically the whole Optimus fight scene as it was basically only 8 minutes or less. there was less side story unlike the 4th one and with the 2 hour & 40 minutes, it made the story more worked on. the visuals just as good as all the other movies, and glad they kept old favourites (Wheelie returns). and then they added Mohawk, one of the funniest decepticons (and smallest) well he died after a few scenes). the rest ill leave you to watch it yourselves. Fans of the previous movies should like this one. It's a Transformers movie so you can expect nonsensical plot line and a bunch of loud action sequences and explosions. IF those are your things this movie is a 10/10, if not then a 4/10.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Lunatic and wide scenario, magnificent visuals and effects. One of the best movie in the last three months. It isn't possible to understand such hatred; there is no other explanation for being a Decepticon in giving low grades. All the movies that have appeared in recent times were terrible, you still can not get used to it? What were you expecting for? This movie is a gold in your movie rubbish. Better than Mummy, Pirates of the Caribbean, Guardians of Galaxy. It was great to watch this after watching King Arthur. New movie will be about the Unicron, it is best to you stop hatred and go watch Captain Underpants; because you can't understand the labor and beauty. It is really embarrassing for such a large scenario, great designs and drawings to hate vomiting. Quintessa's stages are enough to give me 10 points. Merlin saves King Arthur with alien scepter before 1600 years - Cybertron is trying to merge with the Earth from where it is, only in one movie progress. I am very curious whether if low score markers can do better. Expand

The soundtracks is what usually makes me happy because it’s awesome and never disappoints! People are too worried about frame rates and plot holes. Cancel Culture killed this in the box office. A lot of people didn't go see this because of negative critics and the YouTube haters club. I went into this movie like I did all the other transformers movies I wanted to see lots of giant robot fight action. Love that they brought in Frank Welker as Megatron as a homage to the G1 series. And I love they gave the Decepticons more personality. Its a fun action blast em' up movie. Don't think too deeply or analyze too much, just enjoy this movie with a large sized popcorn and a 32oz drink! From Nemesis Prime's fight with Bumblebee, to robot battles in Medieval England, and to the nonstop action across the globe and in space, it's one of the best action films ever made! This movie couldn’t have been better. Hopefully someday we get to see the planet-sized Transformer Unicron in the sequel to this film... Expand

What I didn't really like was the ending, how they mixed everything up becoming a thunderstorm hard to watch and understand, but I don't agree with A LOT of the critics who rate it so poorly.

While it's not a 10, I would put this in the worth watching category for this year, definitely doesn't deserve the bad ratings. Anthony Hopkins doesn't deserve being rated so poorly..

It knows what it is and it delivers on that promise entirely. It's a film about robots that turn into cars and planes bashing each other. What more do you want? If the premise of King Arthur's victory being due to a giant three-headed alien transformer dragon raining fireballs upon a medieval battlefield does nothing for you, then you aren't this film's target audience. Sorry, goodbye. Go watch something with more of a pedigree.

The one thing I would have changed in this film would have been to have more/bigger/better one-on-one duels in the third act (other than the Optimus/Bumblebee fight, there aren't any drawn-out epic one-on-ones to compare to the climaxes of TF2 and TF3). The big climactic scene is really well-done otherwise, and the humans get a chance to shine in the battle as well, but it still feels like something's missing in the payoff. Other than that, this is definitely not that bad of a film. The budget really shows and the technical aspects really shine (visual effects, sound design and editing, etc). Sir Anthony Hopkins really dives into his performance in a way that classes the whole thing up, and his Transformer butler provides a really fun comic foil. The cast in general was pretty solid, and even if the writing wasn't always up to the challenge of providing them with fun things to say, it's definitely a step up from "Age of Extinction".

The story in general is quite fascinating in how far it goes for broke and, much like previous films in the franchise, there's plenty of ridiculous references to aliens molding/shaping human history, conspiracy theories, secret societies, Stonehenge being the center of a portal, etc. I enjoyed all of this stuff, though, maybe because I'm okay with occasionally turning my brain off to enjoy what I can out of a stupid movie that knows it's stupid and only wants to unabashedly entertain and dazzle with audio/visual magic.

Also, there's apparently a scene after the credits that I missed that is really weird/silly.

I've given that up since the second movie. These movies have always been about explosions and big robots beating the **** out of each others, and this movie excels at it. Since this is a Michael Bay movie, it's gonna get blasted by critics (And many people) anyway. The third act's probably the best since Dark of the Moon, and the visuals are as good as you can get (Its special effect is much much better than the overrated Fast and Furious franchise). As always, the main problems are the humans, the plot, and the dialogues. But hey, like I said, I never went to the cinema watching a Transformers movie expecting any of those points to be good. Explosions and Robot fights are satisfying enough for me. We've had (Beauty and the Beast, GotG 2, Wonder Woman) and will have many other potentially good blockbusters with good storyline and decent characters (War for the Planet of the Apes, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Despicable Me 3, Dunkirk, Star Wars, Thor 3, etc.). For now, let's enjoy the junk food Michael Bay has served us. Expand

Transformers: The Last Knight was for me felt like a soft sequel to Age Of Extinction, for it's more simplicity of the story and characters compare to the previous one, the old English Viking Knights elements which i found really entertaining, couple of good characters decision makes the movie better, fine performances by all the cast, The Last Knight still fills with epicness and impressive action from Bay, another entertaining and exciting installment on the overhated franchise specifically this one, i mean Revenge Of The Fallen was way worse and overall an awful Transformers movie, sure there is still a moment where i felt "oh there is another one" even that the movie still concluded in the most satisfying way possible, nit picky here and there, but overall The Last Knight was still a great movie, i'm not surprise that i really like the film, i have a good time, i can't see anything horrible at all on the film, and i like it, i really really do, The Last Knight is a great soft sequel to Age Of Extinction.

Yes, it's still a Michael Bay movie. Expect explosions, nonsensical storytelling, and takes on the Autobots and Decepticons that are so bland the characters almost completely indistinguishable from one another provided their names aren't Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. However a much needed change in tone from the last movie and the infamous director not taking things seriously in any way make for a more enjoyable movie than one might expect. Just don't come for the plot or anything other than the action and some cheap laughs.

There's a surprisingly large cast of familiar faces involved in this ridiculous new take on Transformers lore. Among them is Anthony Hopkins for some reason. Michael Bay clearly enjoyed having the respect actor around to use, and Hopkins himself seemed to be having a blast despite that starring in a movie like this is him just slumming it at this point in his career. While he still ain't no Labeouf, Mark Wahlberg's character is so much more likable this time around. Something that's due to the plot not giving him any extra baggage hanging around in the form of his character's obnoxious daughter and her useless, statutory rapist boyfriend (no, it's cool. There's this one law...). They, along with the material, aren't here to choke out the actor's natural charm. The material is so much lighter than that of the previous film "Age of Extinction." Bay goes for a lot of different kinds of gags and ends up filling the movie with almost wall-to-wall humor. A move that is much appreciated. The plot itself is crazy. It regularly jumps back and forth from different locations and even time periods in an effort to come off as complex. Instead it just feels convoluted. It's easy to lose track of certain characters as they get left behind for large parts of the film only to pop up later. I actually forgot about Cade Yeagers new human cohorts there for a while. Naturally, this isn't the kind of movie you watch for good writing. Michael Bay is known for making movies for teenage boys. Here he really embraces that.

The Last Knight is much lighter and surprisingly more diverse than the other Transformers films. You even get some pretty cool action scenes that aren't just explosion fests that rely more on the physicality of the actors. Of course there's also some gorgeous sci-fi scenery. Those underwater scenes are astounding. Ultimately, this is still pretty brainless entertainment. As far as the writing goes, it's the most incoherent Transformers yet. However, by embracing the absurdity and silliness, and just going for jokes and spectacle, Bay crafted what might just be the best Transformers movie yet. For whatever that is worth to you.

The Autobots and the Decepticon are not the way as it is before. There attitude has change, there forms (Bumblebee Magnets Parts something) and there language (toxic). Well, I respect that but that just my own opinion. The story and the settings are not that bad actually and the new Bumblebee, Optimus Prime and Drift looks is really outstanding but Megatron, shame. New look but a 1 Karate Kid Kick from Optimus Prime killed him instantly, why don't you let him flee and show up on the next Transformers movie? That's for it. Nicely done. Expand

I didn't have high expectations going in, but it was your typical Transformers movie. Anthony Hopkins was a fantastic addition to the cast, as he always is to any film. The fact that Optimus Prime appeared in the film for less than five minutes and played the antagonist for even less time raises my only two concerns. Optimus was supposed to be the villain in this movie, but he didn't do much to merit the hype. Additionally, the entire King Arthur story didn't appear to match the mould for this genre. Even if it didn't make much sense, it was nice. The new Autobots were great. Expand

I think the quality remained throughout... the problem was that the 'throughout' was way way too long. This is the major breaking point of the movie. as I was watching it, I found myself wondering how much longer it was going to go on for. an audience really should not be feeling that way. When it came to some pretty awesome (objectively speaking) bits towards the end, I feel like I should have been really excited, but by that point I was just shifting my bottom and wondering when it was going to end. The ridiculous length of this movie and the inclusion of a plethora of unneeded elements, really brings this film down. It could have been great, instead it was a bore fest.
This is a colossal shame because there were many bits that wowed me, there were bits where I couldn't stop laughing, there were bits where I felt sad etc. They really messed up at the writing stage though. It seems crazy because a lot of the parts felt a bit rushed, like they were just trying to cram too much in, when in actuality they should have been taking a lot of elements out. for example, the girl and the blue robot. they could have been taken out completely and the film wouldn't have suffered at all. The submarine bit could have been cut down to 5% if what it was. They just really messed up. I'd say... wait for bluray/netflix and then watch it in segments. Maybe it'd be better that way.

It is worth watching the movie at least once in the movies or when you arrive at Netflix or a video store. Special effects are excellent, but the story has been kind of confusing and exhausting.

Two species which are not at war anymore: film critics and audience.

The "Transformers" saga has come from more to less. Starting exactly a decade ago, Paramount Pictures broke into Hasbro toys, adapting them into audiovisual products, those metallic giants found on planet earth a provisional protection. Shia LaBeouf's rebellious young role, the eye candy who Megan Fox turned out to be, Michael Bay extravagances idealizing sequences as hilarious as showy and the narrative delusions implanted in a script that is out of touch, all the above imparted the rules by which the following movies would be ruled, without the possibility of an iota of irregularity. It has become evident that complaints about this franchise don't cease, however, the film studio doesn't step down by seeing the answer, ironically, positive at the box office, causing a disagreement of opinions between audience and reviewers. Nevertheless, the movie with the power to converge these two opposite poles in an exact point of embarrassing dejection, describing the most recent installment of Autobots and Decepticons with adjectives as very long, cacophonous, intelligible and sleep-inducing.

Navigating more than seven scenarios, the story follows the customary leading role Cade Yeager, accompanied by unusual characters as, nothing more or nothing less, Merlin and the Knights of the Round Table, who are starting point for development of the plot; Vivian Wembley, the only living descendant who can take up his sword; Lennox, military captain who hinders goals of our heroes, Izabella, a girl who cures Autobots introduced to possibly inherit the unlikely franchise or the amount of coming spin-offs; Sir Edmund Burton, faithful sentinel of the genesis of Transformers; and the ideological troubles of two races that are at war in the same world, some humans and other metallics.

Openly, the salvable compounds in this sea of nooks are limited, unnecessarily, convoluted and lacking any vestige of attraction, generated by a quartet of writers with highly utopian ambitions, which strive in opposition to a narrative barrier in which no longer keep the same expectations. Such information that slides through Nazi, alien, Mexican, Cuban, European, North American and even medieval settings causes, either from water, air or earth, the feature film feels exaggeratedly longer than the previous outstretched films. Action intervals are inscribed into the plot with decisive rigidity and aren't sufficiently suggestive to pretext the mechanical yawns turning up from the middle of the runtime and is rapidly intensified over longer final climax. As for dialogue, written at six hands by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and Ken Nolan; It underlines coarse update surrounding the criticized racist misogynist manias of the franchise, which are enhanced by equipping the eye candy with Oxford university titles and doctorates, intellectual glasses and a heady black dress that makes evident that, in fact, nothing has changed. It's enviable the support that Paramount Pictures offers Michael Bay to quench his idealized film dementias, some grandiloquently materialistic and other exaggeratedly pretentious. I said enviable because, personally, I feel a strong connection with this directional kind, also evidenced by Jordan Vogt-Roberts in the recent "Kong: Skull Island", of course, referring explicitly to the visual aspect. Propagating with a striking commercial paraphernalia, the fifth installment in the saga is the first to be filmed, entirely, on IMAX 3D cameras, state-of-the-art devices that give majestic images, boasting technical capabilities that embroider the spectacular. Without a doubt, the talent of this director lies in cinematography, the knowledge to fit precise pieces that, here, are harmed by the arrhythmic editing work, emphasizing the variations of aspect ratios that the sequences ache, an unintentional distractor. Fleeting bursts, frantic chases, metal hits, shiny frames and whimsical landscapes file throughout the film, a summer cinema show lacking a good edition work and excitement.

Announced in advance, the retirement of Bay and Wahlberg from "Transformers" franchise gives an air of hope and faith to restructure the unlikely future installments, since, what has been achieved with "the Last Knight", puts the plans of the studio at risk, seeing the unfavourable reception of both critics and audience. However, it cannot be categorized as an absolute film disaster because, although it contains flaws equivalent to the budget in editing, soundtrack and script fields; what the director and his artistic crew do with the scenes deserves enough merit to overlap the yawns and naps attempts in theatres. Yes, this is the only reason to see the movie, you've been warned, experience it in IMAX cinemas, with the largest screen and the most suitable position. Sit down, buckle up and try to enjoy this resounding candy conceived by Bay.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Transformers: The Last Knight is a new movie in the ups and downs franchise! This franchise started very well, and then went very bad, then "oh, there is a chance", to the best of the franchise, and when I finally thought that there's finally a way to save this franchise, they made Transformers: The Last Knight!

When the opening credits started, I was like "oh, the Paramount logo is accompanied by a series of robotic sounds. and fireballs are flying everywhere, this definitely gonna be a great movie!". Turns out, I was wrong! Actually it's a good movie, but not like Transformers: Age of Extinction -BTW, it's my favorite movie in the franchise-.

About the opening credits.. after the Paramount logo, I was thrilled, because of the epic battle, and disgusted because of the bad start of this movie, and the bad-acting! By saying "The bad start" I mean why did they know Merlin and how did he have contract with the Transformers and how all of that's happening?!

The whole movie was sometimes fine and sometimes very bad! The jokes were seriously unnecessarily. Until we reach to the fight of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, the one that I was really waiting for, lasts only for 02:45 min. I was like "Com'on it's 02:34:38 movie, and all what I get is 02:45 min?" BTW, the length of this movie is so long, and that made me bored!

Back to the fight, how did Bumblebee speak? And how did that change Optimus Prime? This movie is just an open-questions movie!

The young actress Isabela Moner as Izabella was actually overreacting at everything she did!

The soundtrack and the CGI were really good. Beside the action sequence, it was very good!

So, Transformers: The Last Knight is a "just fine" movie!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. OK I'll admit it. I've NEVER watched Transformers (or any movies with good CGI or action) for some amazingly gripping story in the vein of Lord of the Rings. I'm happy with a simplistic story, as long as the CGI and action is fantastic. This is why I've totally enjoyed (and defended) Transformers 1-3. Transformers 4 was starting to get a bit unwieldy but it still pretty much "did it" for me.

Enter Transformers 5. I'm absolutely familiar with Michael Bay's style now, and yet, with Transformers 5, despite fantastic CGI and action scenes, I felt that this is the worst Transformers (and it hurts me to say this, as I'm such a huge Transformers geek - I have my full DVD set of G1, I have fanboy toys like the Transformers Masterpiece MP-10 Optimus Prime and Ultimate Bumblebee, etc.) for the following reasons:

1) The story this time was so terribly broken and scattered that it actually interfered in my enjoyment of the movie. It jumped all over the place, and each scene felt like they were from different movies! Suddenly we're in the medieval age, then we're in Nazi Germany in WW2, then we're in the modern day with very little rhyme or reason.

2) For the first time, I no longer felt much connection with most characters - robots or human. When Optimus Prime and Bumblebee appeared in the first Transformers movie, I always felt a connection e.g. I felt proud of Optimus Prime and I loved Bumblebee. In Transformers 5, the robots were all reduced to an afterthought... Anthony Hopkins should've added huge gravitas to the movie, but the plot was so poorly done that even Anthony couldn't do nothing to breath life into the story. The young girl was a great actress, but unfortunately was hardly used in the movie.

3) I expected Unicron. I didn't get Unicron. Nuff said. Even Cybertron was such a poor lifeless, soul-less planet as it approached earth. It just felt like a planet-sized meteoroid crashing into earth.

4) There's no real (or formidable) villain as such in the movie, so there was no strong opposition. Just a silly little Contessa - looked menacing but had little brains or power.

It's not all doom and gloom. Cogman the sociopath robot butler to Anthony Hopkins certainly injected some character into a rather bland set of robots. And the female lead is less dumb than those from the previous 4 movies. Fantastic action and CGI, naturally. I'm not willing to rate it lower than 5 because it is Transformers, and Transformers is close to my heart. However, for me to rate a Transformers movie a 5 speaks volumes as to how disappointed I was with how a terribly badly scripted story actually interfered with everything else. Sad, but I hope Transformers 6 (which I presume will feature Unicron) will actually redeem the series (just like Pirates of the Caribbean 5 did). Michael Bay, you should try and do just a little better - we don't need you to add more to the story, you have all the strands - you just need to tie the strands up a bit better.

The autobots helped King Arthur win a war with a 3 headed dragon? Merlin was a drunk chartalan who got a magical transforming staff? the stonehenge is a portal? What on earth? One word: absurd. Actually two words: ridiculously absurd. Too much lame humour. I didn't mind seeing a hot chic, but the emphasise on accents, hot chics and the dude from NASA took away from the story too much. In terms of action, it's more intense than the previous ones and I would say a bit better, but but the dialogue is so corny and some scenes are way too predictable and cliche - for e.g when bumblebee cries some sense into a possessed Optimus Prime.

Optimus Prime barely makes an appearance till the end, but I have lost count of how many times he says "I am OPTIMUS PRIME". we get it! If you like an simple action movie with cool sci fi effects and you don't have to think as much, go watch it. Otherwise skip.

There are many transformation scenes, and it will be exciting to see the Autobots transforming! The advertisement here has converged a lot. It seems that it is not all for money. Yes there are the expected explosions, slow-mo and the hot woman running while you see some of her cleavage. The movie also has some interesting ideas finally, but is ultimately squashed by the uninspired script and dull dialogue. There are some cringe moments as to be expected especially coming from a scientist and the idiotic perverted humor. Some of the action scenes I felt were the best part of the movie along with Anthony Hopkins. The movie doesn't explore much with the Knights of the Round table unfortunately too, and it is the shortest film which is a good thing cause watching these movies just drain me. And yes, this is what you'd expect from another Transformers movie: an awesome production that falls into this lazy story that cares more on the action than setting up the story. As i mentioned, the production is awesome. The visual effects were well-made,but the sound effects were kind of decent, since at some point i was starting to have a headache. One thing that was certainly annoying was the change of Aspect Ratio, because, like every poster (and the trailers) said,it's filmed with IMAX 3D cameras, and i thought the aspect would change during an action scene (and it does),not that it would change every single second. The acting was okay, but some things were unnecessary, like those initial 10 minutes of exposition from Anthony Hopkins. The story may be dumb, but the 3rd act, with all those magnificent action scenes, was fun. In the end, last times may be perfect (this is M.Bay's last Transformers movie),but this one certainly does not. An 'A+' cast, the 3rd act and the awesome visual effects are not enough to save Transformers The Last Knight from being a GIANT mess. Still better than Revenge Of The Fallen and Age Of Extinction, though. Expand

They are popcorn movies that are meant to entertain you with there stunning visuals, and Transformers: The Last Knight does just that. Is it the best film of the franchise? Absolutely not. And to be honest, the final battle is a bit underwhelming. The editing is horrendous. The humor is forced at times. That being said, it is still a fun and crazy movie with some big surprises. Expand

The nonstop action and mindlessness of it all had my restless leg syndrome kicking in full gear not even halfway through the film. The dialogue and corny moments with the characters in the film hasn't felt this absurd since some of the most truly awful moments from the second film, and the talent of all involved is simply wasted, there's no other way around it. It's bad enough that Mark Wahlberg felt the need to involve himself once again with this nonsense, but Sir Anthony Hopkins!? What was he thinking!?!?!? Overall, for those who still somehow enjoy the mindlessness of this franchise, great. For those possibly looking for redemption or getting their hopes up that this is somehow better than the previous installments in any way possible, steer quite clear. Expand

It's just too messy to enjoy. There's no cohesive story, and the scenes just crash into each other without rhythm or flow. The best way to describe the experience is like watching TV commercials for 2.5 hours.

This movie was an absolute bore and about an hour too long. I never thought the words boring and action would ever be used together. But that is exactly what it was "boring action". The story was convoluted, long and drawn out. My 8 year old fell asleep twice and I was actually happy he did. My 9 year old begged to leave early. This was truly awful. Completely uninteresting. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I DO NOT GET THIS MOVIE? They advertise that Optimus as an antagonist but it lasts for 5-10 minutes?! What was the point of the little girl as well? Why does the TRF exist now, they want to eliminate the transformers but didn't the CIA want to do that under the books in 4 and now the government is doing it? Also, now they are trying to get Cybertron over to earth again, didn't they try this already?

Explain this movie to me please. Gave it a 3 for the cars, effects and all that transformers jazz.. otherwise I get why it's rated so low.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Transformers: The Last Knight is a movie filled that has no story and no idea what is it trying to be. From the very beginning it was going so fast it wanting to start the movie but it just got boring from then on. I might not be on the right here or where are my facts, well the fact is, the movie is boring, bad, bland and it's just a terrible. "The last knight" it's like five seconds of telling who it is but doesn't explain it after that. They probably do, but I wasn't listening because it was so freaking boring. The writers are terrible, who asked seven writers to tell this story. Each will have their own say and just give it to Bay like," Hey we just got a new scene to put in the movie can you put it in?" He do, and then theres all these other writers wanting what they want. It just a mixture of everything that goes nowhere. Megatron is horrible, this part is hilarious though, they tried to make a suicide squad movie in it and it could've been more interesting then the movie that I was watching. Please watch something else if you can, if you like these other kinds of movie, then go ahead this is only my opinion. You might ask, "Why go watch it if you know it's going to be bad?" Well I try to open my eyes and see how things can improve if it doesn't then here I am. Bad movie! Bad directing! Bad acting! Bad editing! Writing and Film in total. Nothing has improve, it's all the same. Expand

I loved every bit of the older transformers, not cuz of the brain dead story but cuz of the scenarios, the battles, the ambiente - the effects! However, I still had one ray of hope - it couldn't be worse than that, right? The story is already bad, the characters are no longer interesting, the continuity doesn't matter anymore, and hey, just one more movie is left after which I'll get to watch the super-awesome Bumblebee, so let's just tolerate one more movie. And boy, was I wrong when I didn't take one more factor into account: At least the cinematography was good in all the previous movies. Here even that fails.
The most distracting thing in this entire movie is the continuously changing aspect ratio. There's a very important rule in filmmaking, that your jump cuts should be so seamless that the audience shouldn't realise when the jump cut takes place. Look at Marvel movies. When Black Widow fights there are like a gazillion jump cuts in just one somersault. If that is supposed to be silently moving across the room, the jump cuts of The Last Knight are like dragging an almirah across the room hoping no one would notice. You can literally see the jump cuts happen!
And speaking of jump cuts ruining the mood, whenever the jump cuts happen in the same scene it feels like it is a completely different scene. Like in the scene where they are in the elevator and they see the butler bot over there, it feels as if the scene outside the elevator is a completely different place. The lighting is also so bad, it doesn't even feel like there's continuity until the jump cut happens again and the camera goes back to Cade and company.
Apart from that there is also a scene where Cade stops his car in front of the sheriff and when he's stopping the car there's a lot of dust. But when the jump cut happens the dust is all gone. And while he's still stopping his car his voice starts coming. Like, he isn't even moving his mouth and the words are coming out louder than the car's engine. Another time the ADR ruins the mood is when the butler bot is playing the piano when the story of the Transformers is being narrated. He is asked to stop playing... Twice! A bad joke is repeated twice in just fifteen seconds!
Then of course there's the fight between Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, the legendary fight for which everyone came to watch it. Because the movie had been advertised by saying that Optimus Prime is the bad guy in this movie. And guess how their fight ends? Martha! No, not by saying those exact words, but something similar. Just as Optimus is about to stab Bumblebee, he says, "I'm Bumblebee. I'll lay my life before you!" And that changes Optimus Prime's mood. First of all, why did it change his mood? He's a robot not a human. Emotions can't alter his programming. And secondly how on earth did Bumblebee suddenly start speaking? It's not like his voice suddenly fixed. It was permanently damaged.
It's kinda weird that in this movie the humans are not the bad part. In fact I really liked its starting, where they were showing Merlin take help from the dragon Transformer to win the battle. I also liked how those kids were collecting spare parts to survive. Even showing Optimus Prime on his planet looked so cool. The way it began I was really wondering why on earth this movie has such bad reviews. If the movie focused on either of the two things it could have been a great movie. I really wanted to like it, but the jump cuts were making me laugh even on the serious scenes. I'm sorry, Michael Bay. But I think you've ruined a good movie by hiring a bad cinematographer.

Without those how am I supposed to feel anything about whats happening in a movie? Even basic archetypes can work if well executed(like ID4 and star wars). A good, compeling plot and a good character you can care about are not necessarily oscar worthy masterpieces as long as passion and love for the project is involved. These can tie a movie together. Bay does not seem to care about these at all. Just make the next one and be done with it. Just throw in racist and sexist jokes, some pretentious attempt at diversity(im neither SJW or a feminist), and american army and thats it. All done by the numbers. The movies are not even about transformers! The girl you see in the trailer rivals the boy on the phantom menace. Its there by chance and does nothing. The movie is full of unfunny, juvenile jokes, like that one friend you have that just keeps making fun about anything and saying unfunny jokes. TF5 is just a compilation of CGI demo reels, shameless product placement, and america military pornography. And people keep paying for it! Expand
