This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Horrible plot and disqualified movie
It's totally different from train to busan. The worst part is the plot which looks like anyhow write up. No firm structure. Feels like watching a racing or shooting scenes movie instead of zombie vs humans. It seems totally unrelated to the structure of train to busan and this movie just try to get people's attention under the name of so called "train to busan" film. Not worth to waste the time watching it. Sadly, I hated this

A completely different film to the first one in every aspect and never in a good way. The story is idiotic, the writing is stupid and it's about 98% really bad computer generated effects laden. The story is idiotic, the writing is stupid and it's about 98% really bad computer generated effects laden. Virtually non of this movie is real which I don't mind if the effects were stunning which they are not. It's of Playstation 2 CGI cutscene quality (yes not even PS3). This is even poorly covered up by having all the film at night time or in clouds of pollution... Shocking when compared to the first one which is among the best zombie films ever made, written and directed by the same person.... WTH happened? Expand

Looked at the day before yesterday and probably still not digested. Well, that was nothing at all. The film looked like a real-life anime with such incredibly bad CGI that all my hair stood on end.

I didn't expect such a discrepancy in quality between the two films (Train to Busan). Peninsula is really awful to me. It starts with the completely unimportant, interchangeable and uninteresting characters (especially this Commander "villain", really pissed me off) and ends with these incredibly bad Fast & Furious interludes.

What was that supposed to mean? It just looked really bad and was also really boring. One zombie after the other is slapped away by drifting maneuvers.

Neither the protagonists nor the antagonists interested me, that was really nothing. Basically, in its successor, the film spat out ALL of the charm of the previous part and left it in the corner.

But I can mention that I basically liked the context. It plays 4 (?) Years after the previous part and you basically get an apocalyptic setting, which (despite a lot of bad CGI) can have really cool shots and the basic idea is very nice. I also liked the "John Wick-like" fighting of the protagonist. At these points I also reached my "goal", namely to have watched the film to the end: Was it worth it? Not really, the end is another kitsch festival with incredibly boring pictures.

And yes, the gore was unfortunately missing again, which might have made the rating even milder.

1/10 Zombies, holymoly this was bad.

Expand
