Taking that away, you're left with an above-average movie with really good voice acting, story, heart, and everything in-between. Toy Story is a delight from beginning to end and the characters are very well-realized. Woody could have been an unlikeable jerk in this movie but thank goodness he wasn't because it saved PIXAR. If Woody was in anyway unrelatable or unredeemable, PIXAR would not be the successful studio we have today. The music is also very good in this movie; Randy Newman did a fabulous job with the score and songs. Personally, Randy Newman is my favorite PIXAR composer. Overall, Toy Story is a great movie that also happened to be a ground-breaking movie for the animation industry. Expand

Although it's the weakest of the franchsie, Toy Story still holds up greatfully with it's original story, great character, fantastic comedy and themes about friendship and teamwork. A great start for the legendary studio we all know as Pixar.

Pixar's debut movie is still a very nice animated adventure. That said, both the animation style and thematic content has been bettered by the company. Toy Story is still great, any way you slice it.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: It's a little silly and bears little sway in terms of interesting plot or themes for adults to enjoy beyond the sheer fun factor
VERDICT: Pixar's first was definitely a success to which all their future films grew. A fun tale with great characters.

As someone who never grew up with Toy Story, I have to say I enjoyed the adventure, but really didn't feel much else for the movie. The humor, the chemistry between the characters, the world - it all worked very well, yes. And that's about it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The characters were very interesting and the script perfectly written. But then again, l am not into this kind of animation. I prefer the old classic type of animation. I liked the story though. Overall, l find this movie "good" just as its sequels, but also l find it a bit overrated, l still believe that The Lion King is the best Disney movie ever. Expand

Consigliato? Sì.

Toy Story is a very good film with parts that do affect the viewers in different ways. I love the way the movie portrayed the characters in different ways

It is not the best movie in the series, but not bad, actually, to be the first animated movie in history, they took it seriously ...

As the world's first fully 3D animated film, it has aged very well, both visually and story-wise. i do however find 2 and 3 to be better than this just because I prefer their more diverse stories and characters, but this is still a very good movie.

I liked it as a kid was never a big fan but I completely agree with Pat S. Every single pixar film is taken from another movie. Maybe not every but atleatst 75%.

There's nothing special about this movie, it has only received acclaim because it was the first computer animated film, I'd compare its plot to Ant Bully or Open Season, they are about the same level.

Pixar have started creating witty animations since the 80s, but their collaboration with Disney has not paid up for the popularity and liking of Disney's previous movies.

A cinematic pile of rubbish. It is a complete rip off Of the Brave Little Toaster. SO sick of Pixar taking credit were they deserve none. My kids hates it too. Doesn't surprise me.

A grating story filled with profoundly idiotic decisions. Toy Story is overhyped all for just different yet outdated animation.
