"Vanitas vanitatum et omnia vanitas": "the man who would have defeated death?" Shakespeare's "Henry V" as a banner of epicness and not of tragicalness? Nice that the statue was made to the wrong dog, nice that in non-Disneyan reality Togo was first sold and then killed with euthanasia. A similar fate is desirable for all those children "saved" from diphtheria.

After watching the trailer, I’m excited to watch this movie. When the film was released, and I’m started to watch, I’m telling myself, “Why this movie not released in the theatre?” It was a fantastic experience to watch Togo.

It’s a heartwarming and thriller. Cinematographer Ericson Core has done his best job in this movie. Cinematography and CGI are the best part of the Disney+ Togo movie. The way the director Ericson Core wanted to connect the entire story with us and he was successful in it. You will also become a little emotional while watching this movie. Willem Dafoe has done his best performance in the role of Seppala.

You have to watch a Togo movie for a new adventure, thriller, and inspirational experience.

An absolute travesty that it only has a 71%. How have critics become so out of touch? This is a beautiful, heartwarming story that is bound to stay with you. A real tearjerker. The cinematography is incredible and Dafoe is brilliant.

This movie features some really solid performances, with Willem Dafoe being the standout, as is usually the case. If you like dogs, definitely watch this movie! It has cute dogs everywhere, and I think they are mostly real with minimal CGI. I’m always amazed at how expressive these animals can be and what they can be trained to do. The subject matter of the movie was very interesting, I feel like I learned something about history from watching it. It also features some really intense and thrilling action sequences that had me on the edge of my seat! I wasn’t that into the structure of the film, it was told in a nonlinear way that kinda took me out of the experience sometimes. That, and I didn’t think the cinematography or the editing were anything to write home about, but other than that this is a good movie that gives you a good old-fashioned triumphant feeling. It’s worth a watch if you have Disney+. Expand

That tune's an express lane straight to me crying and I can't take it anymore. Kidding aside, the last 10 - 15 minutes of this movie really are ROUGH. The content itself isn't anything traumatic. It's just the way things round out (the voiceover, the editing, the finality of the events, etc.) that really got me. Also, much love to this movie for setting out to correct the record regarding what actually happened during the 1925 serum run. I always loved the idea of the story and had no clue just how misinformed I was about the true-to-life happenings. I still, of course, love Balto (just as I love all the brave little doggies involved in the historic feat) but Togo definitely was a real one, as they say. This is a well-acted, well-conceived depiction of unbridled heroism — both on the part of humans and canines alike — and a thoroughly enriching experience all around. Expand

"Togo" is a sincere, intense and truly moving story. Dafoe's incredible and his bond with Togo felt real and genuine. All in all, this was a heartfelt and truly unforgettable film about an unsung hero deserving of more recognition.

Modest but really well done. To tell you the truth I was quite surprised.

Of the three original films that Disney + has released so far this is definitely the best.

Stunning, truly stunning.

As I pressed play on 'Togo' and began watching the initial scenes unfold, I was expecting a rehash/retread on Disney's previous films on this sort - e.g. 'White Fang' or 'Iron Will'. Those are good in their own right, but this 2019 film - which is about a true story - takes things to another dimension.

It tugs at the heartstrings profusely, from the first scene to the very last. It's superbly written, with there being a fair amount of surprises in terms of how the story unfolds. It's shot beautifully and put together, via the set design etc., excellently, while the score is magnificent.

Then you have the dogs, who are insanely charming throughout - especially, of course, the star that is Togo (Diesel). There's many a moment with him that produce all the feelings, from joy to sorrow to everything in between. The dogs are great and incredibly adorable.

Away from all of that, you have an outstanding performance from Willem Dafoe. Before seeing this, the most I remember of him is his role in 'Mr. Bean's Holiday'. This now takes over in those regards, it's a brilliant job done by Dafoe. Julianne Nicholson merits praise, also.

What a film. Not what I was expecting whatsoever, in the nicest possible way. Glad to see it has also been highly rated online. A must-watch!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is one the amazing stories I have watched and great work by the producers to respect a life of the champion dog whom saved hundreds of lives back in the day.
I felt truelly honored to live with such a great soul even through a movie!

Togo is without a doubt a surprise hit, in my opinion. When it comes to dog centric films, I tend to not watch them because let’s just be honest - most of them are sad. Beautiful, but sad. When it comes to dog centric films, I tend to not watch them because let’s just be honest - most of them are sad. Beautiful, but sad. Togo may look like just another Disney dog movie, but it is so much more. This film blew me away from start to finish. And one really interesting fact about this film is it IS based on a true story. I even fact checked the movie after and was floored to find how truly faithful this movie is to the real events.

If you grew up with the animated film Balto, I can’t recommend the watch more, it takes the story of a dog mushing adventure that we loved as kids but made for the whole family - and especially us adults. Willem Dafoe again proves his worth as an actor, giving a beautiful performance and Julianne Nicholson was a brilliant cast to back his character up. Give it a watch - you don’t be disappointed.
