This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is awful. Pretty plain and simple. From the script, the acting, the soundtrack, the shots, etc. It is hard to put it into words. This "Rom-Com" felt more cringe-worthy from it's uneventful and lazy ideas when trying to sound comedic. With all that to say, I'll start with the very few positives that circulates in the movie.

Peter's character seems to be someone to root for throughout the movie (although his acting can maybe pursue the opposite). LJ's role was not terrible, but she seemed to be the driving force for the movies potential.
The aesthetic was well done in some factors. The color schemes were not off in most spots, but overall, it can be seen as a positive.
Some may disagree, but there is areas of unpredictability in the movie as well.

Alright, now the negatives... fasten your seatbelts for this one...

The plot was absolutely horrendous in every way possible. As LJ's love for Peter continues to grow, she forgets about Ambrose, who sends her a letter back (finally), and she seems to already fall in love with him before she even reads the letter. This was a pitfall and the ultimate reason why this movie is awful. LJ is portrayed as an awful person who just jumps around from Ambrose and Peter, but blames Peter for making a mistake in the end of the film. It is just a messy pile of trash that is never settled until the last 30 seconds of the movie.
Also, Ambrose's character is never developed. He is just seen as a really creepy guy that can't stop thinking about an 11-year-old LJ, which is just ugly. I mean, all he talks about was 6th grade with LJ!
Another issue is the shots... the SAME shots... with the SAME type of music... EVERY TRANSITION...
Did someone just fly a drone across a highway or street and play some dummy version of soft dance music? That is what it seemed like.
Not worth discussing the acting, it was just bad. The script was just bad. Worst of all was the END.
How does she go from making out with Ambrose to just realizing that Peter is the one? And then leaves him in the dust only to find her true love one minute later who so happens to be walking in. Then they make out and viola! Wow, that is laughable. She just proved herself that she cannot be in a sustainable relationship, but just dumped Peter the previous day for being with the other girl. Something doesn't match up. Hopefully in the third movie Peter finds out she just made out with the creepy guy two minutes prior... Maybe that will cause another destructive rabbit trail that leads to the same ending.

Don't watch it. It ain't worth your time.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. "To all the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You" is an absolute show of despicable acting, horrible directing, and an awful and cliche-filled script.

The plot is horrendous; When LJ gets the letters from Ambrose (which she had already forgotten about), she falls in love with him even before reading the letter! This way LJ just looks like this absolutely horrible person that jumps from making out with Peter to making out with Ambrose and then all the way back to Peter on that absolute horrible, bad-acted, predictable ending.

Another big problem is the shots of the movie. The editing is one of the worst I've seen in years. The transition scenes are always the same, the camera moves on the street, and soft-dance music plays.

Don't watch it, you've got better stuff to do.

A pointless sequel, in which you will dislike the characters of the original to a point, you really don´t care if they get a happy ending.

Honestly if you liked part 1, you’ll love part 2. There’s new twists and change of characters, i thoroughly enjoyed it.

I have no idea what the third film will bring to the table but I'm pretty sure all the fans will enjoy it the same way they'll enjoy this one.
And hey, we're all fans of something no matter what other people say.

I am a sucker for these kinds of films, this was not as strong as the first but still a fun ride. Sadly, I did find myself disliking characters that I liked prior.

Surprisingly I really enjoyed the first movie. I thought the characters were cute and relatable and even though it was bit familiar the execution was refreshing. I also found Noah Centino adorable and charming as well as Lana Candor. I didSurprisingly I really enjoyed the first movie. I thought the characters were cute and relatable and even though it was bit familiar the execution was refreshing. I also found Noah Centino adorable and charming as well as Lana Candor. I did however feel it didn't need a sequel but was charmed by the idea of it. Basically this is a very unnecessary movie. That being said it's still charming and likable even though our main characters make very frustrating decisions. Picking up a little after the first, Lara and Peter are still together but starting to have some doubts. She than receives a letter from from John Ambrose whom she discovers has always had a crush on her. And that's really it as they question their relationship a little and deal with insecurities while being cute. It doesn't move the franchise forward in any way but I still wouldn't mind seeing what happens next.

This second part is not though. For the most, the movie plays more like a Music Video than a movie, with constant 2 min long clips accompanied by cheesy on-the-nose song choices following each other one after one. The character of the male lead also seems strangely unlikable in this movie compared to the first, and makes bad or rude decisions that he doesn't get called out for or manages to redeem himself for. Which makes the love triangle agonizing to watch, because you would usually want to root for the original characters in a sequel. Expand

Expand

Worse than the first, but at least To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You is above average for Netflix teen movies.

Chemistry is nothing to sniff at, but P.S. I Still Love You does come awfully close to arguing itself out of its central romance.
