Wonderful film. Enjoyable plot, performances, and filmmaking overall.Very underrated here, in part due to rigid genre expectations from people who seem to have entirely missed the charm and purpose of the film. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. it's not a horror show and quite 'tame' compared to conjuring. this story line has been scripted to death. remember the classic 'What lies beneath' by the then handsome Harrison Ford? this is quite a copy coz Harrison was also the bad guy in the end.
the film was quite well shot and the mood was appropriate. also the pace was good and plot not too boring. the only difference is the george inness haunting paintings that held the spiritual clues.… Expand

Strong concept, but hoooooooorrible execution. Seemingly made by people who have no interest or ability within the Horror genre. Heavy-handed, predictable, clumsy. Cliche upon cliche. Such a shame, because it could have been decent in more capable hands.
