Not so god I'm afraid. In Italy (my country) this picture recieved lots of attention and highly rated critics reviews so I watched it with anticipation....but it was a disappointing experience. It is, basically, a crime story with little supernatural elements in it.
Very basic moral segments, predictable ending, lots of cliches, stiff action sequences ruins this production: Everything we’re meant to feel here is bluntly dictated by the script and delivered with unambiguous direction,
It tries to be a smart-down to earth-comedy drama, but it is a misfire...maybe because it tries to be too many things simultaneously.
A missed opportunity, If you are looking for an unconventional "Superhero" drama try the much better, Super! (2011 film)… Expand

Le super-héros en question s'avère plutôt un vrai tocard à l'insu de son ignorance, petit délinquant lourdaud et bourrin, mêlé malgré lui à une bande d'affreux mafieux dont le chef est un bouffon à faire mourir de honte le Joker lui-même... Avant tout anti-héros égoïste, notre Romain tombé dans la potion magique va se découvrir un intérêt inattendu pour cette fille totalement timbrée et fada de l'anime à la mords-moi-le-noeud "Jeeg Robot"...

Le film a quelques trous d'air et ses gentils moments de guimauve nunuche mais aussi des passages carrément hilarants ainsi que d'autres pas politiquement corrects (on est pas dans une marvellerie, Dieu merci !). Quant aux effets spéciaux, ils sont la plupart du temps étonnamment... acceptables, de même que la réalisation globale de bon aloi.

Un peu naïf et un peu taré, le film est clairement un ovni dans le genre surchargé des super-cons en collants mais ici sans cape ni collants et c'est assez rafraîchissant... comme un San Pellegrino en somme.… Expand
