Really stupid and pointless. I found myself bored and waiting for the movie to start, but in the end, it never actually started. A very disappointing movie.

The Visit is about two siblings who visit their estranged grandparents for a week while the girl, Becca, films a documentary about their stay. After a few strange encounters, they realize something is seriously wrong with their hosts. Although it wasn't as terrifying as Unfriended or It Follows, The Visit is the most fun I've had watching a horror movie in the theater. You'll be laughing your ass off through laced fingers; it's just as thrilling as it is funny. The movie perfectly punctuates every intense scene with some witty dialog from the kids. I smell a comeback for a once-acclaimed director, and the first step is with the wickedly fun The Visit. Expand

Creepy, funny, and a great comeback for M. Night. he should do the low budget horror movies. The Kids steal the show, the found footage makes sense and the grandma is creepy. I highly recommend this movie to people who are fans of horror movies.

I went in planning to hate it and I actually came out saying that this is at least a decent movie and I will stand by that. It doesn’t work as a whole, it fails too much on the found footage gimmick, the characters dialogue is terrible, the performances are pretty good, if a bit of a mixed bag and this film will elicit way more laughs than it will scares and I won’t say Shyamalan is back on form, but for all it’s worth this is probably on the whole Shyamalan’s best movie since Unbreakable and that’s mainly down to it’s plot twist that really supports the movie that came before it.

I wouldn’t recommend seeing this one in cinema, I’m not sure it’s really worth it and this is probably a rental as soon as it comes out on DVD, but for what it’s worth I would at least say it’s a half decent movie and it’s worth checking out on some level, mainly for the performance of Deanna Dunagan.

I think it is a good blend between comedy and Horror. The cast really did well, mainly Ed Oxenbould was amazing in this movie. As the movie is a blend don't look at it as either comedy or Horror.

The most uneven part of the film is the horror part I just wasn't that freaked out. Also there are some really ridiculous things here and I saw the twist coming from a mile away. Overall this is like an infield single but with Shymalan's recent strikeouts he'll take it. C+ Expand

Shaymalan has finally snapped. The result is a cliched bird flipping to those who(justifiably) wronged him and bashed all his previous work. On the bright side, this movie would make a good goosebumps episode.
