OK, for some reason the rush was on the bring 3 stories of being silent to the screen for 2018/2019: A Quiet Place was first and ultimately the best of the bunch, Bird Box arrived a few months later and IMO really sucked balls and now we have the latest entry-and this dog is what crap inspires to be when it grows up. Numerous plot holes and gaps, atrocious dialogue with zero chemistry between the cast. You will keep yelling at the Awkward, Noisy Stupid People....wait, WHAT?......BUT?......WHY? Do not waste your time on this very bad concoction that is strictly a money grab. Stanley Tucci-Fire Your Agent!… Expand

This movie is a joke. The Characters have 2iq. While i was watching this i almost felt asleep. Title is "The Silence", ok but speaking in sign language for half of the movie is insane. From the director of 'Mortal Kombat: Annihilation' and 'Wish Upon', already a great start.

If Netflix is paying money to get **** films for their catalogue, I think they're paying very well because otherwise I cannot explain how they feel it's right to get such simplistic and forgettable films for their service.

This was comically lousy, with plenty of "WTF" moments to help you forget how many HORRIBLE decisions that Stanley Tucci's character made in this epic fail of a film. You'd think a film in which the creatures are blind and rely solely on their sense of hearing, the creatures' would have a more heightened sense of hearing. At least Bird Box as much as it was a knock-off, was about seeing the creatures. That being said; at least there is a sequence with the cult that gives the film life if only for a few minutes. It's not as bad as it could be but it could have been better. Stanley Tucci's presence in this film tricked me the way I see it tricked most.… Expand

"A Quiet Place" meets "Reign of Fire" but this time... velociraptor bats. Oh, and the girl from Mad Men. And Stanley mofo'n Tucci! This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. While watching this movie I saw that there are many similarities to A Quiet Place. There are creatures that only react to sound and a deaf girl who is the one of the main characters. The girl who plays Ally doesn't portray herself as a deaf girl really well. She did say that she could read lips but she heard people without looking directly at their lips or when they were talking to fast. The movie also felt like it was rushed. Glenn loses his life shortly after the family left the house but his death seemed like the producers just wanted to get rid of him. The Reverend is a creepy guy but it was never explained what he wanted from Ally. All he wrote was she was fertile but looking behind him there were at least 2 women who were still young and could be fertile. Its not explained why Ally was so important. The woman with the shotgun had a convent death and made it really easy for the family to get into her house. Do they expect me to believe that she knew nothing about what was going on? The ending of this movie was bad as well, they kill the reverend and now they are experts on being quiet? Earlier in the movie Ally said that the family already knew had to live quiet but just because one person is deaf doesn't mean the rest of the family doesn't speak or make loud noises. Ally's boyfriend shows up at of no where no explanation on how he joined the family and the movie ends from there. At least A Quiet Place ended with the daughter and mother figuring out the weakness of the monsters, this family still knows nothing about them except they have no eyes. I don't recommend watching this movie and wasting your time like my husband and I did. Its just a rip off of other movies.… Expand
