Well, here it is, another piece of content about the tragic figure of Princess Diana. After the dreamy but dull 'Spencer,' 'The Princess' takes another approach by letting the images talk for themselves. After the dreamy but dull 'Spencer,' 'The Princess' takes another approach by letting the images talk for themselves. This documentary just points out the obvious: Lady Diana died because of media greed and the abandonment by the people that were supposed to protect her. What shocked me is the obsession with Diana not just by the tabloids but by the ordinary people, who were kind of hypnotized by her story from the beginning. I guess Jordan Peele is right: our obsession with spectacle is our doom; the more we see, the more we are sucked into a vacuum of nothingness.

In the end, 'The Princess' works only as a recollection of memories to re-tell a well-known story. But, most importantly, the film dangerously becomes what it criticizes: the endless exploitation of a tragic life.… Expand
