A decently entertaining first two acts are ruined by a terrible third act. It makes the whole movie pointless and everything is left unexplained and unanswered.

I think the biggest problem is that the writers had no idea what type of horror movie they were making and never really resolved it: it's an ineffective ghost/haunting film, hints at being a film about a mentally ill neighbour, but ends up just being an ineffective implacable serial killer film. There's also plenty of elements which are introduced, have no effect on the story and then fade away e.g. Martha.… Expand

The trailer was amazing! This was a movie I wanted to see. Full of surprises, twists and mystery! But the movie didn't meet the expectations of the trailer. Simply writing this off as a "NETFLIX film" does not excuse this atrocious mess that has been attempted to be passed off as a movie. This doesn't even fall under the so bad it's good category. About thirty minutes into the movie, I found myself looking for something to do to keep me entertained because it was a lot of terrible dialog with nothing happening. I then attempted to force myself to focus on the movie (an action which I know regret) only to get even more terrible dialog with nothing happening. I think this was supposed to fall under the horror or suspense category but at no point did I find the movie scary or care enough to feel suspense, and that's the worst sin here, I didn't feel anything, especially entertained. Stay away at all costs.… Expand

I disagree with the negative reaction. Myself and my partner found this movie absorbing and some moments of real nervous tension. It's a psychological horror more than a gruesome type and some bits were definitely messing with our heads (in aI disagree with the negative reaction. One of the worst movies I've seen. Incredibly awkward dialogue, screenplay and acting. It has some potential the first hour or so, but as someone else has mentioned it's ruined by one of the most stupid conclusions/endings I've seen. I won'tOne of the worst movies I've seen. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. it gets a 6 for the genre from me though i wouldn't want to be home alone while watching it again.not because it was too scary but because it was too boring.. I did however love the originality and the hot mom and all that. as well as the way it pretty much ended in the part of the basement that was really the scariest part of the house if you ask me. i like the way that the guy was so sneaky and elderly woman so scary and the way the black guys death was extra creepy but the shivering kid was just overkill or annoying to shiver for that long and who would blindly walk around a creepy house instead of protecting your mom from dying? bit of a tip of the hat to the prisoners search party scene at the end there. its almost like the guy was teaching the kid to be a better runner..… Expand

The creators of this film apparently thought it was clever or cute to give the film no ending. Every single plot point of note - most notably, who the killer is - is unanswered at film's end.

This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I like the main character from 13 reasons why, and this movie completely had promise, even though it wasn't about anything paranormal. Without ruining it, all I will say is the ending was absolutely ridiculous, and there's no way it could be set up for a sequel, because what would it have? A new unsuspected family that basically gets, well you know what for no reason? And what happened to the mother? Um... That was a little much. I mean I could see if this was a part of the SAW series, but this was just ridiculous. There was zero closure, more questions are left than answers. Anybody that has given this a ten obviously works for netflix and it trying to have this thing look better than it is.. because honestly it's bad.. I made an account just to review this movie.. Whoever wrote this should honestly be embarrassed. It's so true, for how many red-herrings there were you would think one of them would of mattered? But nope, basically it builds on characters that have absolutely NOTHING to do with the outcome. The outcome leaves a really, really, really bad taste in your mouth. Save yourself an hour and a half and pass on this one.… Expand

A great movie, it really was to my liking, I hope a sequel just as great as this one!
I found all the scenes incredible, somewhat predictable but good; The only thing that I did not like 100 percent was the end and the doubt that remainedA great movie, it really was to my liking, I hope a sequel just as great as this one!

OMG how bad can a movie really be? It was bad enough for me to make this account just to write this review. And there were a couple of 10 ratings for this. Another Netflix production that fails . Seeing the trailer had me excited to watch this , while it started off well, with jump scares that worked , as a viewer you already know this is not a haunting but something else, it's the somethingAnother Netflix production that fails . Seeing the trailer had me excited to watch this , while it started off well, with jump scares that worked , as a viewer you already know this is not a haunting but something else, it's the something else that leaves you asking what the heck is going on and why? People other than potential buyers have extra interest in the house that is never explained creating a mystery with no answers. The Mother & son go through a lot of repetitive & stupid moments. The last 25 minutes the story amps up but fails to the bitter end leaving the viewer with a feeling of what was the point of this in the first place?? moment. Netflix is a pay for view service and frankly their movies are a joke. Very disappointing movie that had great potential.… Expand

This is the worst Netflix production I've seen. Whoever directed this should be shown the door. The thriller tropes are hamfisted and I skipped ahead hoping it would get better. It didn't.

Simply incredible! I just saw this movie with all my family and we loved it, we took out the scares that we expected to take, really the film is very good, it is worth seeing and it is super entertaining.

I didn't think they made movies this incredibly bad anymore.This movie almost none existent story line is...well...That anybody did put money in making this movie is beyond me.This just doesn't work on any level..
