I almost took the DVD out of the player and drove it back to Redbox after the first few scenes. It was, in a word, insufferable--worse than the typical faith-based movies periodically cranked out to give us born-again Christians something that won't offend our sensibilities. Once the actress who played the girl who died was no longer on the screen, the acting seemed at least passably authentic, and the story became a bit more engaging. The shame of it all is that I would like to love films like this one, but they so often are artistic train wrecks.… Expand

I did not know the film was based on real life events till the credits rolled. This film is melancholy . It has two Hollywood veterans William Hurt and Helen Hunt . Both do a fine job . But it is the young Erin Moriaty that shines in TheI did not know the film was based on real life events till the credits rolled. This film is melancholy . And tragic death of star volleyball player Caroline "Line" Found Danika Yarosh acts with such joy and passion that you feel very connected emotionally . Even if the story line while predicable a tear will run down your face . Excellent emotional film making 9 out of 10 will worth this true story being told in in the art of cinema.… Expand

Yes, it's saccharine sweet, but still, an enjoyable, inspirational, heart-warming family-friendly story (sorry for all the adjectives) Don't know why some critics trash this movie. Yes, we've seen this type of "rally around the painful loss, and win for our deceased sports hero" movie before, but it is based on a true story and all that sticky sweet stuff really happened (as you can see by the real pictures and videos during the credits... Caroline truly did make an impact on her town). The acting was good. The story was touching. No cursing or sex. A good, clean, emotional, family film In MY Humble Opinion!… Expand

This is a great movie based on a true story about a Volleyball team (Iowa City West) that has to go through something no team should ever go through, the death of their star player. After winning the state championship the year before,This is a great movie based on a true story about a Volleyball team (Iowa City West) that has to go through something no team should ever go through, the death of their star player. After winning the state championship the year before, everyone thought they were bound to repeat as champs the next season with a lot of good players coming back. Then the sudden death of their star player, the heart and soul of their team, the girls climb an up hill battle the rest of the year. They rally around each other and end up having a season to remember. It truly is a Miracle Season!… Expand
