This was a horrible movie. It's difficult for me to rate any movies under 5 but this one does it for me.

If the film had gone in the trashdirection with Jason Statham it could have turned out better, so the film remains simply insignificant and bad.

This movie is predictable and honestly pretty boring unless of course you like Jason Statham and/or his movies.

One of the worst movies I have ever seen. It is just a bad remake of jaws, with the most cliche annoying characters.

The Meg felt like most of shark B-Movie just added with the universally popular actor Jason Statham, and at the end he is indeed really the best thing in the movie, mostly because his performance as basically Jason Statham, as for the rest ofThe Meg felt like most of shark B-Movie just added with the universally popular actor Jason Statham, and at the end he is indeed really the best thing in the movie, mostly because his performance as basically Jason Statham, as for the rest of the cast that fills with B-Movie acting performance they were ok except Li BingBing which was for me one of the worst thing in the film as her performance was just terrible, the other many problems that i have with The Meg was the story that i found not so amazingly and not so excitingly written, couple of weird scene, and what annoyed me the most was the whole sacrificing thing that are just lazy, questionable, lame, and dumb, the whole CGI was bad, the green screen was bad, and while the climax was getting boring for a couple of minute until Jason Statham was back at it again, i must say that at least i didn't get bored all throughout the movie, i can say it was quite entertaining despite all the problems, and there is still couple of pretty exciting and intense and cool moments which mostly if not all of it was done by the badass Jason Statham, so i can go as low as 4 but i'm still being generous and give it a 5 for one more better things which is for some not so bad production design, i guess. The premise is as preposterous as it sounds. At least Jaws (1975) ‘could’ be true. This feels like a corporate movie made to make money, there is zero creativity for this film, just a whole lot of money thrown at it. It also feels like it was made for the Chinese who like American movies market. It has such broad appeal it is boring. Jason Statham annoying. The rest of the cast are totally forgettable. On the positive side the special effects and technical aspects are near-perfect. The pace is also fast and keeps you entertained. For a mindless film it works but as a society haven’t we moved on from this yet? Give me some depth and entertainment. Expand

This is not a good movie. It's a fun one. A really fun one. Great horror elements. A nice movie all around. Just don't watch it expecting a masterpiece or go swimming after.

The Meg is NOT the best shark movie like some weird people say, but it does offer some harmless, uh, I MEAN, um, scares to enjoy .

The downside of the different countries producing the film can be felt in the casting and the chemical reaction between the roles. The chaotic plot and the pointlessness of many of the supporting roles make this prehistoric Meg not at all scary.
