This is not in anyway typical, The Luring won’t spoon feed you and I thought the story was really interesting and kept me engaged. This film really plays with characters who all have either a secrete agenda or are manipulating someone. The Luring also plays with dominance and submissiveness in a very unique way that I thought was brilliant. I feel this film goes places that are refreshingly different and doesn’t rely on anything typical. I thought the way this film also uses nightmares and how they manifest made me think that maybe this is purgatory. Point is, after you watch The Luring you’ll be thinking about the hidden meanings throughout and will test your theories on other fans of the movie. It’s a great movie to talk about afterwards. I love that Mr. Wells took us on a crazy, weird, twisted story, that he took a risk and made a movie that isn’t for the basic horror fan, this film has an intelligence that is thought provoking and I find that refreshing. I’ve now watched it a few times and I keep seeing things I missed the previous time and this is what makes this a brilliant cult classic. I recommend this for fans of psychological thrillers who like films that embraces the strange and off-putting. Something that may offend some people who maybe should be offended. This is creepy and evil and I’m a fan. Expand
