This could have been good.
How many people knew the Demeter was the ship that brought Dracula to England in the story?
If they did more of an Alien type movie and have the twist at the end show it was Dracula doing all this then it would haveThis could have been good.

IF only this movie borrowed ideas from the first Alien movie, building up suspense, letting you care about the crew. You can have a slow burn movie if you do it correctly it could've been something great.

There's another upcoming movie directed and written by Robert Eggers called Nosferatu, if there's any hope left for Hollywood to resurrect Dracula that movie could have the potential to do so. (Robert Eggers directed The Witch, Lighthouse, The Northman and they're all received well by audiences, one of the main reasons why I mention it here)… Expand

So we got a black doctor because we need representation.
We got a female stowaway how is the fighter to save the day.
Every one else is there to just to die.

Dull and not very good, the cast is woke and wacky and the script is plain dumb. Also, it's just not very scary, could've been Alien on a 1800s tall ship but what we got was a boring vampire slog with all the progressive agenda boxes ticked - 2 stars

This thriller (not really) is based on the Captain's log from the titular ship, which carried Dracula to London in Stoker's book. Writer/director André Øvredal scored well with his last sci-fi film Mortal (my review) and this one also has a grand cinematic feel. No matter how stately things progress, there is not one single moment when there's a scare. This film is big on dark atmosphere and malevolent portent, but it moves too slowly and never creates any tension.… Expand

As my name suggests I'm a huge Dracula and horror fan. I do not recommend this movie at all. It's too far removed from the original material for me to get behind it. The concept of the story is amazing but very poorly executed. The cast isAs my name suggests I'm a huge Dracula and horror fan. I do not recommend this movie at all. It's too far removed from the original material for me to get behind it. The concept of the story is amazing but very poorly executed. The cast is terrible and does not reflect the Dracula story. One reviewer on MC said it best. I watch horror to escape politics and the endless parade of unearned progressivism "the movie stumbles in its potentially interesting but frustratingly halfhearted efforts to frame Clemens’ experiences with bigotry as his ultimate motivation to kill Dracula. You know what else is a good motivation to kill Dracula? He’s Dracula."

This movie had so much potential it hurts to see it unfold the way it did. Predictable jump scares. Nothing frightening. Hollow characters and a crew that literally does nothing to help themselves until multiple deaths on the ship occur. Give this one a pass… Expand

I wish i listened to the reviews instead of wasting my 1 hour watching this crap, all the crew is just plainly dumb including the captain, the dialogue sounds like a child wrote it, the characters are horrible, and the story sounds promisingI wish i listened to the reviews instead of wasting my 1 hour watching this crap, all the crew is just plainly dumb including the captain, the dialogue sounds like a child wrote it, the characters are horrible, and the story sounds promising but Hollywood somehow made it an absolute boredom, the movie as a whole was way dawn out for no reason, and yes like some reviews pointed out this movie if full of woke agenda like the only smart person in the crew is... yes you guessed it is the woman.

the only thing i will give praise for is the cinematic aspect and CGI anything else is just ridiculously stupid and boring

Please do not watch the movie, I stopped halfway through this movie and I skipped all the way to the end. you better waste your precious time somewhere else.

A little better than the second episode where the story of the Demeter is explored in the Netflix series Dracula, this movie is very, very boring, not to mention the agenda they inserted.

Some of the worst editing and sound design I have ever seen. It had good ideas but it constantly bombards you with loud noises and camera cuts that take you out of the experience. It actually made me feel sick on how badly it was edited.
