A very close to B-grade movie. I expected a more high value production but was surprised it was even French.
Very flat writing on the humour sense. Did not find this that funny really. Casting could have been way better, but hey, this isA very close to B-grade movie. I expected a more high value production but was surprised it was even French.

Van Damme looks rough on his exterior. You can see that he is 60, but he can still throw some great splits and kicks, despite the movie is not all that action packed with any grand explosive scenes.… Expand

Does JCVD have a limited rank as an actor? Nobody doubts that. The Last Mercenary is a bad film. At least in my opinion. And that opinion is based on my overall experience because I found nothing in it's offer I could call noteworthy.

Now having said that, for any Van Damme fan I doubt that matters. After all, this is dumb entertainment.
The film embraces it completely. It's a silly action story, but that's precisely what it wants to be.
I can only acknowledge its transparency in that regard.
