Where “Seven Kings Must Die” is most interesting, however, is in its approach to religion, sexuality and culture. While it’s tempting to see our current era as unprecedented in its social blending of diverse faiths and identities, early medieval England gives contemporary Western society a run for its money in this respect.

There’s a ton of plot crammed tightly into the running time, but director Edward Bazalgette manages the storytelling efficiently, helped by the display of place names at the beginning of each scene explaining which castle we’re at now, as well as how it was known in 900-something, and the name it goes by now.

Absolutely amazing. The best ending to a TV series I have ever seen. I look forward to rewatching all of the episodes without having to wait in between seasons.

Absolutely love the series up until this movie, but this was a total mess.
There's absolutely no pacing, the plot and new characters are mostly a mess, and it just goes out with a whimper. Disappointing, pretty much from start to finish.

I was willing to let some historical inaccuracies slip, but the film just pushed it to far only Netflix could turn the first battle of England in to a rom-com the whole Ingimundr character doesnt remotely fit history.
