An old story line done differently, the dialogue is sung. Also done in flashback, although not chronologically, so it was hard to tell where in the time line you were sometimes. I didn't know Anna Kendrick could sing; I still don't. DidAn old story line done differently, the dialogue is sung. Did she pay for this movie? I still don't get the story line, one of them is successful, supports the other to become successful, and they split up? Rather egotistical. If this movie was done straight up, probably a 5 or 6; I gave them kudos for trying a couple of different approaches.… Expand

Even if this doesn't go down in cinema history as a great musical, it's certainly well worth a watch and a listen. Perfect for musically inclined individuals.

I pretty much loved it. It's a wonderful New York story but very much a movie that requires you to listen -- rather than watch for thrills. But if you let it in, it will deliver especially during it's final touching last moments. I've seenI pretty much loved it. I saw the off-Broadway revival in 2013 and loved it. The film adaptation had me worried because of the trailer and the critic reviews, but I loved it. The chemistry between the two leads is real and they do a great job of making the emotionsI saw the off-Broadway revival in 2013 and loved it. The music and show is unchanged from the stage version, except for a few modern additions for comedy. All of those additions were extremely minor and welcome in my mind. Go see it if you love musicals, it's really great.… Expand
