The film started quite well but lost its way - by the end you will be confused, disappointed and annoyed. Adequate acting for a found footage horror movie but few real scares and not disgusting enough for the modern horror fan.

Bad : I watched this movie just 4 or 5 days before dropped this stupid review here. And I don't remember one goddamn thing about this piece of **** There's something I want to say about horror films being made in the recent years. If it's not a relevant movie, make it some kind of a found footage s**t "The Gallows" would be another one - which, unlike this one, could've been better. This movie has no story at all. All it has in the name of the story is the group talking about some of their usual s**t that we're not interested in and getting some scares occasionally. Everything that we are to know about the movie are told to us by exposition dumps, most of the times. The writing is one of the laziest writings for a found footage horror movie. The motivation of the character who wanted to go to a haunted house or that Blue Skull bulls**t they talk about in the movie was unexplained, forced and stupid. Who the f**k would go there after all that creepy **** they're going or they've been through? And the movie shows us a glimpse of the girl Brandy being driven away with supposedly blood on her face (.... I think that's what happened, I don't remember except for a orange-y visual) which makes the fact that they'll be captured in the end more obvious as the movie progresses. Also, the twist is very obvious, if you have watched a bunch of mediocre horror films. The moment they mention about the Blue Skull or Blue Skeleton s**t you know that all the events will eventually tie up with them being the victims. Also, the actors go by their own names, which could've made it more creepy. But it isn't, and honesly, no one would even care for a second. If you wanna do a found footage horror, it's fine. Do it right. See "The Blair Witch Project" for example. That's the movie it tries to rip off, at least it could've paid a homage to it. For more than half of the film, we get to hear whole bunch of crap which doesn't make us interested in the movie. Then, all of a sudden, we get that Blue Bone thing I mentioned so that we need to get some thrills. But we don't get it. For more than half (around 68%) of the ****ery on screen is the characters experiencing some creepy s**t which feels totally fake. It has no tension to it. The director doesn't know how to create an environment for a film like this. The moment he realizes that the stakes should be higher and the tension should boil, an amazing thing happens. You know what happens? The movie ends! Holy s**t! What the f**k was this bulls**t?! There's a way to do found footage horror films. One of those ways would be to initially show that everything is okay. Then introduce to some creepy s**t and make sure that the characters are on the safe side. Then, slowly and steadily rise the stakes, build more tension, and make the characters more "vulnerable" with no options rather than falling to their own death. Finally, end the film in such a way that the ones who watch it would feel that they've seen one hell of a disastrous journey of the characters. Not saying that I can make better films than this (or theoretically, I can, hahahaha), but there are people who can. Not comparing my abilities, but with those of the better ones. Here, as I said, there's no feeling that the stakes are high or that the tensions are boiling. The script has some creepy things, but the director doesn't know how to get that right. So, they don't hit you at all. It feels like some fake as **** rehearsal take. If only this was at the level of "The Gallows", I would've been fine. "The Gallows" does follow the basic formula I described to some extent but it doesn't hit too well because it has stupid jumpscares and shabby script. Most importantly, it didn't have to be a found footage movie, as the story sounds okay for a watch. And this movie it is just .......... ............ ............ Wait a f**king second! I got it all wrong! This is not a movie. This is just a bunch of bloopers tied up together to look like a film. I have not seen the actual film yet. You think you could fool me? Well, guess what .... you can't! I believe some day I will watch the actual "The Houses October Built" movie. Since that movie is misplaced in the not so far away alternate universe, it will take a long time for me to see it. Till then, I will assume that this is the actual movie and it sucked. .
