It is the embodiment of everything sick, disgusting and diseased with the modern film industry and as a film whose impact on the industry as a whole going forward can only be summarized by cold-hard cash, this was completely unbearable. Hillary Duff, while not the worst actor of the bunch, is not believable as Sharon Tate, all other actors are completely static and unmemorable, the film is cheap as all hell with abysmal sound design, overkill with the gore and butt-ugly CG effects, there’s no story to speak of so it had to pause and delay itself constantly for no reason and make stuff up, there are literally no scares in the whole thing, the editing was lazy, the directing was terrible, it keeps pulling the same **** trick asking about fate while insulting, degrading and desecrating everybody involved and I don’t think I need to remind anybody how it was so damn insensitive and repulsive seeing the brains behind this film cheapen the most notorious mass murder in the 20th century and turn it into shock value for entertainment and to make a quick buck.

I honestly don’t know which is worst: The fact that this was made in only TWO WEEKS, the fact that they managed to get away with so many cheap effects and lazy screenwriting, the fact that Lionsgate and director Daniel Farrands have stupidly tried to censor negative backlash and reviews to protect this film or the fact that this piece of **** won three awards at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival for Best Director, Best Actress and Best Horror Movie. Were they high when they gave out the awards that night? How could you look at THIS and say this film was worthy of such awards?

Every single person who made this thing: the director, producers, screenwriters, editors, cinematographers, every single middleman, they are all to blame for this film ever getting out because it proves once again that none of these executive Hollywood studios care about quality control or respecting the past for that matter. It doesn’t add anything we don’t already know to the lore nor does it have any respect for Sharon or her victims let alone their friends and family who have to live out the rest of their days knowing they’re not gonna see them again and knowing that this film spit in the face of everyone who died that night. This film isn’t even a film; it’s a black mirror: a dark reflection behind the corporations behind all our favorite films and characters and documentaries and how often they simply DO NOT CARE.

I’ve got nothing else to say. **** this movie.

Unnecessary and bad. A lethal combination, and this film is fatal and harmful.

2 rating for the terrible movie, 0 solely for the directors inability to take criticism and sneakily trying to stop others from disliking his Sharon Tate exploitation film. Terrible acting, writing, directing. Disrespectful and gross

OK, so you're telling me that a movie like 'Once Upon a Time In Hollywood' receive backlash on how the Manson Family was portrayed, but this movie somehow goes under the rader? Not mainstream enough?

I couldn't think of a more insulting

I couldn't think of a more insulting portrayal of Sharon Tate if I tried. If these people really give a **** about the Manson family case, then where's the outcry for this?

People are so fake. **** clowns.

I was hoping this would be a bad movie that was funny but it wasn’t. Almost every aspect of this film is terrible. The only aspect that isn’t terrible is the music but even then the music is bad but not as bad as the rest of the movie. The acting from everybody is awful. No one is trying at all. Hillary Duff wasn’t as bad as everyone else but she still did a terrible job. She doesn’t feel like Sharon Tate at all. She feels more like a parody. The cinematography was terrible. There were no unique shots at all and they decided to use a little shaky cam for every single shot. The shaky cam serves no purpose and just makes the film more confusing to look at. I couldn’t tell what was going on at the end of the film because the camera kept shaking. The editing is atrocious. Each scene is cut randomly within the middle or goes on for far too long. Editing is supposed to give the scenes a smooth, flowing feel to it which is what this film does not do. Since it’s cut randomly, it feels awkward and rough. It’s incredibly distracting and pulls you out of the film. The script is complete garbage. Every single line of dialogue feels weird and awkward. Some conversations start with one topic but completely change into something else. The start of conversations are so out of place also. One scene shows the characters playing a game and then all of them out of nowhere start talking about fate. The story is incredibly stupid and confusing. The entire film is based off one line Sharon Tate said in an interview in the late 60s. The concept of basing a film off a single line could be cool but the film butchers it. They took this heartbreaking murder and decided to turn it into a “horror” movie. It’s a huge disservice to the actual Sharon Tate and a little bit exploitative. I couldn’t understand what was happening half the time because the film has a hard time differentiating from reality and dreams. There are many different dream segments but you can’t tell that they are until the main character wakes up. The ending was incredibly dumb. The film does an alternate history scenario where they fight off their attackers and kill them but then it shows that they actually did die? It made no sense at all. Thank goodness Once Upon a Time in Hollywood or else this is all we would have for Sharon Tate. Overall, The Haunting of Sharon Tate is an atrocious piece of filmmaking with terrible acting, cinematography, editing, script, and story. Expand

It's a great movie. Expand

Hilary Duff é uma atriz muito talentosa , porém de performances muito podres o filme apesar de possuir uma boa estratégia mas é muito entediante fazendo que uma história trágica e marcante seja adaptada para uma vergonha confusa.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Hilarious, Good comedy
Even if perspective had some hope, Duff?-ya gotta be kiddin me, as well as her worshipping TWC(Third World Country look craver) girlfriend. Duff perfect for not intended comedy though. Shoulda went with my gut when I saw her name listed cuz it wasn't THAT funny. Irritating the very LOUD music everytime something horrible suppose to be happening ( such as two females turning to look at them walking, oh my!) made me dread what they'd come up with when something actually happened. By then I was laughin to hard to be irritated

One of the only films I've seen that I would truly call offensive. Probably one of if not the most garbage film I've ever seen.
