Ms. Cohn's movie has a lot going for it and a lot not. The two balanced each other out so well that I kept my finger on the STOP button through much of the aggravating moments but didn't actually hit it so I made it to the end. If only the direction and cinematography didn't look so made-for-TV. If only the director hadn't allowed Alice's father to overact. But most important, if only the scriptwriter didn't think that in this modern age a single act of casual sex would be the most important thing in the world. Alice ought to look harder for a best female friend, hers is prudish and judgmental and disloyal. She needs a better boyfriend as well, hers just can't let something go, he's supposed to be so great and he's as stiff and unforgiving as a stick up Dick Cheney's butt.… Expand
