This is a bit of a bland watch overall but I thought it was nice to see how the father and son interacted - particularly how the child tried to look out for his somewhat wayward father and how they coped with the situations they found themselves in.

There are some pretty basic moral themes present in the film and it is perhaps a little 'worthy' but I found it a relatively pleasant watch regardless. It had the feel of an afternoon TV film but I have to say Clive Owen gives a decent performance as the father, Walt, while young Jaeden Lieberher also gives a respectable performance as the son, Anthony. I found myself feeling sorry for both characters at different times and hoping for a good outcome for both.

It was interesting to see Clive Owen star in a non-action/thriller film for a change - its safe to say there are no gun fights, nor car chases, present in this film. There is both a cheesiness and as I say perhaps a sense of worthiness about it but I didn't feel it was unwatchable. Its not the sort of film I'm likely to remember for any time to come but its not one of the worst either, so I'm giving this a 3 out of 5 score, as I thought it was a mildly entertaining and thought provoking film with decent performances, yet it isn't a film likely to stay in my mind for any length of time.
