Isle of Man provides a magical setting for a pleasant period piece celebrating the Magic of Christmas. As well, Susan Boyle provides the voice of an angel for the movie's theme song, Miracle Hymn.

This is a charming and heartwarming family movie. The cinematography is good. It It has some twists and some humor, too. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it and will get our own copy when it is released this fall.

This is a somewhat Dickensian tale of a young minister who moves to a negligible town in Edwardian England. Supposedly a special candle appears each Christmas that can make wishes come true. Ho humbug.

The Christmas Candle is a beautiful, well-acted film with lots of heart and timeless values. It stands tall as one of the best Christmas movies to come out in a long time, and I can't recommend it highly enough.
