The Bubble is the classic representation of someone who keeps telling bad jokes and thinks it's hilarious when no one in the room is laughing.
Worse, I find it even more stupid to see that they seem to think they were making some kind of good satirical mockery of a reality that they themselves exploit on a daily basis.

Exploiting their egos? That would be commendable if at least what was proposed was nothing more than a petty collection of lousy ideas exploring once again what he has always done; stories with childish adults who have some funny situation that makes him think he can stretch it ad nauseam.

Apatow rather than those involved perhaps believed that not taking himself seriously would be more believable and probably would have worked if not for the simple fact that it's not funny. None of it is.

Despite the strong cast, Apatow does nothing with the characters, and gives them nothing but pitiful scenes in which you can tell they are completely disinterested themselves. Like their fictional counterparts, they are there because of their contract and because they were clearly paid well for doing the bare minimum.

This wasn't meant to be taken seriously, in any way. However, that also doesn't mean you get to play dumb and think you've done something worthy of the spotlight, and The Bubble deserves total obscurity.

Judd Apatow has fallen so far. Maybe this would’ve worked as a 90 minute film, but at over two hours it’s a massive chore. I’m really sick of Hollywood telling us pleabs how tough they had it during the pandemic…

It's not about glorifying hollywood, but exactly the opposite. It presents the movie stars in the worst light possible. They are spoiled brats who cannot handle being stuck in an ultra exclusive hotel for a 100 days to film a movie and earn millions of dollars while the rest of the world is falling apart. Honestly it's amazing that this movie ever got made. If you understand the humor and the context it's great fun and has a lot of extremely funny scenes and ranges from some pretty random and pretty fun light humor to deep critique of hollywood and it's skewed outlook on politics and it's meaning to regular folk. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First off know this movie is supposed to be dumb! It’s just supposed to be a hot mess with and an amazing cast and crew. Then relax and watch this movie with an open uncritical mind and the laughs won’t stop coming! If your watching this movie to find a deeper meaning or to pick it apart to get yourself upset for no reason ( Karens of the world) then move along! This movie is perfect for what Judd Apatow set out to make it, stupid/ dumb Comedy at time where laughter is hard to come by. Love it for what it is! Expand

He's assembled a decent cast, including Fred Armisen, David Duchovny, Keegan-Michael Key, Leslie Mann and Kate McKinnon, plus some fun cameos. They're all trapped in one location near London to make the 6th installment of a cheesy adventure series, while they also cope with the peculiar personalities. Even though most of the activity takes place between shoots, there are some fun scenes of their filming with the green screen. Overall, the movie has plenty of comic energy, but not a lot of truly funny lines. In some ways it feels like a loosely-improvised Christopher Guest project. The Tic-Toc dance numbers are improbable attempts at relevant material, but they just feel silly. While the vitality is there, the writing is only mildly amusing. NOTE: Stay thru the early credits for fun, then one final gag after all the credits. Expand

A bad movie about making a bad movie. How can you not see that the final cut has all the mistakes it is trying to poke fun on.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

If it only amuses when it pays homage to other works or movies, Goya, "Videodrome", "Pulp Fiction", it means that the parody is affected/afflicted by the same problems it would like to criticize and it fails to distract us from them.

Was this movie written for the general audience, or Hollywood actors? I don't see how anyone normal could like this or find it funny.

Total garbage, this is why Netflix is raising prices? Yikes.....

Didn't think this was as awful as expected, some of the humor was fine in parts, most of the covid stuff was pretty bad.

Seems clear that this is not a "good" movie, but I found it to be watchable, but admittedly forgettable. I guess keep your expectations low and watch it if you want some lazy laughs.
