It is very, very well acted all round, there is not a performance that stands out as bad for me. The build up to the final battle is well handled by giving a sense that the defenders may yet prevail - even though we know in the back of our minds they're all going to die, as we saw it in the first scene. "The Alamo" is beautifully shot and edited, and the soundtrack is stunning. The only bad things I found in the film were its pace, and the handling of the slave characters. The issue that the Texans were slaveholders and the Mexicans weren't seems to be washed over. Expand

Very good historical background, but needs more action.

Despite having a lot of historical accuracy, the movie lacks any characters that will keep us interested. It also lacks any real exciting moments. So yeah, its boring and has no energy throughout.

The characters are mostly boring, and none of the acting performances stand out, perhaps with the exception of Billy Bob Thornton as Davy Crockett, who was a dim beacon of light in this otherwise dull portrayal of an important moment in american history. The issue is that this film is just not memorable, and nothing about it is particularly interesting. In a year, I will remember nothing about The Alamo. Expand
